• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Front Tire Pressures

The manual states the front tires should be within 0.5 lb of each other... how the heck do you guys do that when most tire pressure gauges are +- 3 lbs. and the factory gauge won't even work...

Thanks
John

my factory gage works fine. use it all the time for all 3 wheels. you must have a bad one.

That's what I told the dealer and they said I just need to replace the battery... I really didn't feel on a brand new motorcycle I should have to replace a battery from the git go. I did take it apart and the battery is glued in...

I think you may be over thinking this, if you have the same reading on both tires with the same gage, I think thats probably good enough.

I think your correct as long as the reading is repeatable it won't matter much if it is 1 psig different than what you wanted.

:agree: If it reads the same from right to left... It matters less how much air is in the tires, than how close they are to having the same amount.

Now if I can get them to replace the gauge instead of me going to Wally World to purchase a battery to fix a brand new...

It seems like a reasonable thing for them to do... I'm hitting my dealer tomorrow for servicing. I'll see if I can talk them out of one...

IMO the factory gauge is pretty much crap. Do yourself a favor, and buy a good quality gauge that wiil fit the rear tire...then use it. Just make sure both fronts read the same on the same gauge.

They should replace it, especially if the battery is glued in.

A little tip to keep your 'NEW' gauge in a handy and easily accessible place.

With the rear trunk door open there's a flat space AT THE TOP just above the storage area opening. Put a piece of 'j hook' sticky Velcro there, and sticky back fuzzy on the 'new' gauge.

Looks like I need something like this to fit the rear tire.

Factory Gauge

I threw my factory gauge in the junk pile the day I got my Spyder. Every time I would check the tire pressure, I would get wildly different readings. I went to the local auto parts store and bought an analog gauge for $4. It gives accurate readings.VisitedStatesMap.jpeg

Must be why I left the broken gauge at the dealer...
