• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Front Sprocket

OK, I've got just over 59,000 KM's and the front sprocket fell off. Bolt came loose and off she came. Had my tech fix it... 200 KM's later, off it comes again. This time it looks like the sprocket has been wiggling on the spline and has gouged a ring into the metal of the engine. We're going to put a new sprocket on.
Anyone heard of this happening???

Hi VI, just wanted to clarify, you ride your Spyder pretty much year 'round I believe? Any rust or corrosion problems that you think may have had an effect on the sprocket?

There is no indication of rust or corrosion damage. Just the sprocket being sloppy on the spline. We're going to replace the sprocket as the shaft seems good.
It's back together right now, but I'm not riding it 'till the new sprocket is on. I'm not taking a chance again.
Still, with 59,000 KMs on it, I've been more than happy with it. Can't wait to ryde the RT though!!!

Yep, I've been living through the same thing since the week before the Gatlinburg event and Lamonster's BBQ. Luckily my sprocket didn't fall off but the bolt was sheared off and just sitting in the hole. They initially just replace the sheared off bolt and that got me to Gatlinburg and back but now they are looking at a new sprocket and a new shaft.

Yeah, it's a bit of a set back for me, but with 59,000 trouble free (more or less) KM's... I can shrug it off. It's been good to me. Plus, working in the service dept at a dealership, I've let my machine become a guinea pig for the techs to practice their skills on. I love ryding it... and do in all weather conditions.
