• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Front Spoiler

I think the front of Chris56's Spyder looks way cool! He says it's a Rotax Challenge Cart front spolier. They come in silver, red, yellow and black.

Rotax
I got mine last week they only come in silver with a red highlight I payed $164 included shipping.
My concern is does it really cause the engine to over heat?
Lamonster can you share your knowlege about this matter, as I'm ready to make the same mod as Chris did. Should I be aware of any potential problems, or just redesign the air ram?

The Rotax site had them in various colors...or is that a different spoiler? Do you have a link for where you purchased it?

Lamonster, has anyone commented on Chris's spoiler causing an overheated engine, is there a solution, or is it ok to ride with it on? :dontknow:
Motza

interesting - I thought that was something he made himself.

Seems like it would cause cooling problems for sure.

It may look cool but at the temps Chris is running I would figure out how to duct some air to the radiator and oil cooler before I would run too far with it.

Motz,

I'm generally with ya on stuff but I ain't too keen on that look either...whether they create more engine heating or not, they are large and likely create more drag...they look kinda like crab claws...not that I don't like crab claws...I am from MD ya know!

I would be a bit concerned also about air getting under them...at high enough speeds (I have no idea what speed that would be), air under your scoop can decrease pressure of the front of the bike and alter riding conditions...I'm not saying that the tires would come off the ground, but it might alter things...just a thought...

everyone likes thier own thing and thats cool.....its what makes new ideas and inventions fly BUT DAMN.......................

I don't have any Bones to pick, but I have to agree with Chris from Down Under, the Spyders front end reminds me of a snowmobile or wave runner.
I e-mailed Corbin last week to see if they could come up with a new front fender design, but haven't heard back yet. I would love to see a different front end on the Spyder as an option...
By the way Charlie from Impact Jackets, is suppose to release that 2nd generation this month will see. :ohyea:

Something should be done to the front of the Spyder - but is most certaily isn't these add-on things.

I've always thought the Spyder looks bad-ass from the sides and the back - but the front is like a snowmo-waverunner.

my winter-idea of changing the front-design was specially for the front-wheels and fenders - then a friend braught me this existing rotax-spare-part and I start working on that ..here you see my first painting..
chris - austria is not australia (for shure also nice to spydering there..)

This, along with the BRP windshield, are tops on my list...perhaps I should give him a call...I want to take a ride to his store/factory in Silver Spring to talk with him in person anyway...from there, we can work together to get a group of people who want jackets...and maybe have a particular wording go on them...I figure we'll want yellow, red, and gray/black jackets (to match the bikes)...let's see when the faster deploying jacket is ready...and tested for efficacy...

Said that they also will have mesh jackets for hot weather riding.

I still think an indy car front end with spoiler would absolutely rock on the spyder. Especially if they added a 2 piece tear bubble that mounted over the cougar head and on the trunk lid. I'd be willing to sacrifice 1/2 my trunk space for that mod.
