• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have owned three motorcycles, the last being a VTX 1300, did a lot of riding and thoroughly enjoyed it. A year ago I developed a virus known as Guillian-Barre that caused paralysis from my waist down to my toes. After having to go from my two wheel motorcycle to my two wheel wheelchair, and taking almost six months learning to walk again, I have been so wanting to get back out on the road with the wind in my face. I have only 50 percent strength in my legs so balancing the bike has become totally impossible.

After a a great deal of thinking I decided to purchased a 2015 Spyder RT Special edition, red and black. I get to pick it up next weekend and am very excited to do so. This girl is very thankful to be back on the road again in good health and so looking forward to putting lots of fun miles on my Spyder.

;)

Congratulations..!!

Great choice..:2thumbs: this will be just what you need to be back in the wind. Cangrats on your recovery and your hard work to get to this point. Enjoy your new ryde and welcome to the spyder world...:yes:

Kid5, glad to hear you are taking the steps necessary to get back riding, good for you. I suffered a TBI in 2001 and have similar issues. The Spyder has given me back something I was sure was gone for good. There is a group, Enabled Riders, her, you should check out.
Good luck with the SPM! (Smiles Per Miles)

I understand what you are going thru.

I too had Guilliam Barre" syndrome over 30 years ago. I pretty much recovered everything but 11 years ago I injured my spinal column and had neck surgery. After that my legs and shoulders were never the same but wife and I did keep riding. After a bought of vertigo I added a bolt on trike kit. It was nice but not as fun. After 4-5 years of that and more shoulder issues we bought a 2013 Rt and love it. I love the power steering. I'm adding some goodies this winter and will post them soon. Enjoy the ride. Glad you have recovered so much. Keep going1:2thumbs:

It is an absolute Bummer the things that caused you to go this way

but I am sure you will love the machine!

Bet you go out and look at it in the garage quite often when weather etc has you tied down

Mine talks to me alot!

Welcome! To you and yours

Thank you for all of your well wishes on my Spyder purchase. I am very excited to pick it up. Five more sleeps and I get to ride again. Love it.;)

Okay, today was supposed to be the big day to pick up my new Spyder, but have to wait until tomorrow. It is just plus 9 so am going down tomorrow, will keep you posted on how it goes. I am very excited. Not certain what to expect handling wise, but I will master it regardless.

Well picked up my spyder and have driven it twice. Love it so much. Tonight I got to go for a good ride and loved the way it handles. Have to perfect the cornering a bit more. On the whole I give it a 10.

I can can honestly say it is a totally different ride than the two wheels but I am so happy to be back out on the road again. I cannot wipe the smile off my face.
