I am the proud owner of a 2012 RTS that is currently hibernating from the frigid -25'c weather we're having in Edmonton and decided this is probably a good time to do some forum hunting and start some mods in the heated garage.
I have 2 minor projects I'd like to do before spring is upon us here in the North:
(1)
I am impressed with everyone's use of the RAM mounts for items such as cellphones / waterbottles etc. Now while a lot of you are very handy, I unfortunately am not, and have no illusions of such
What I'm hoping to do is setup a RAM mount from the bolts on the handlebars as Guzzi has:

specifically: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=49886&d=1342735667
But I also like the BRP casting bracket that comes with the GPS unit from BRP part number: 219400318 which is part of a package they sell for the GARMIN. I have had little sucess with BRP in getting just the casting without paying for the whole kit unfortunately.

I hesitated posting this for over a week now as I've combed through sooooo many pages of excellent mods. But now frustration is setting in and am in need of your advice.

I have a seen a lot of different setups for adding 12v sockets (lighter slots) to the dash area of the Spyder. If I had the skills (and trust me I don't) I'd be fitting them into the speaker covers and dash areas like some of the mods I've seen.
I have a friend who can run the power for me, and as I plan to disconnect the analog gauges from the dashboard, I was wondering if anyone had an idea for and where to get a 52mm 12v adaptor that I could make fit in one of the old analog gauge slots that would look and fit tight? (as I would have an adaptor that would fit in it that would give me 2 usb connections).
As always, I will continue to go through the many great posts on this forum in my search for solutions, but thank you for your time and any possible suggestions you might have.
