• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Friction Zone

I have a 2010 RT SM5 Anyone know how to adjust the friction zone? Right now it is at the end of the stroke. Thanks

Agree...

:agree: the manual clutch lever does have four settings to adjust the reach for the clutch... I have it out the furthest so I don't have to pull the lever all the way in to shift...now after first I don't much use the clutch until I need to downshift. You can downshift with out the clutch but it is hard on the trans but upshifting is smooth cause the rpm allow the meshing of the gears .

Technically, the friction zone is where you feel the motor begin to engage as the clutch is let out. I was not aware there was an adjustment for this. I will continue to watch the thread to see what the answer is.

My first :ani29: (2008 SM5) was the only manual I drove. I just used the clutch and made no adjustments other than put the lever where I wanted it.

There is no adjustment on a hydraulic clutch, but you may want to check the fluid level or replace the fluid entirely due to age or contamination/air infiltration. Hopefully, the problem is not serious enough to require clutch replacement .

Friction zone I know about thanks to Motorman. What I don't get is "it's at the end of the stroke"...:hun: The only adjustment to friction zone that I know about is to tighten or loosen your grip on the clutch :dontknow:
