• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Freedom Shields windshield w/light tint - too tall!

Bought from one of our vendors. Till the issue is resolved shall remain nameless. Drop shipped from Lamonster Garage. Had I known that, I would have purchased directly. Shield install is very easy on a '21. In fact, the directions need to be revised. A second person is not necessary. The problem is that the replacement shield is still too tall! I am 5' 6". So, back it will go. :( Sure wish John at Freedom Shields would sell directly. I am going to call him on Monday and ask.

Don’t know about the height sizes for the F4 windshield for the Spyder but I know they do make a Spyder shield.
LOVED the F4 shield on my Gold Wing trike... just clean it with water and PAPER TOWELS. Can use Windex if you think you need to....no wax stuff of any kind... makes it smeary-looking or not as crystal clear as it should look. PRICEY but nice not to have to “baby” it with soft cloths and special cleaners/waxes. Optical clarity is EXCELLENT. Plan to purchase one for my 2021 Spyder when this OEM starts going downhill.

At 5'6", I need a 4" shorter shield than the OEM. Guess I need to check out their web site. I am not pleased with the way the return of the Freedom shield is being handled.

Just curious, which height shield did you purchase? From what I see they only offer three sizes.

Looking at your info I assume you put it on the 21 RT-Limited, you did try adjusting the shield position with the switch didn't you?

Yes. Shield was down. The '21 retracts when the engine is shut off.

It does retract but when the power is back on it returns to the last setting. In other words while the key is on place it in the lowest position then when you power it back up that is where it will stay.

I believe that a 20" is the shortest one they make for the Spyder and Lamonster is the only place to get one as they will not sell it direct.

Good luck with your quest.

Ordered a 22". It's on the way back to him. He does sell to other vendors. That is how I bought mine. Now I have to wait for him to refund the vendor I bought from to get a refund.

Have you considered cutting one down to whatever size you want? Unless you need a curled lip at the top, Cutting is very easy and with some files and various grades of sandpaper, you can get the edge crystal clear. Just use tons of masking tape on both sides to protect the surfaces, and like all good projects, measure a thousand times and cut once!!

Actually, that is what I had done today. I had 3" taken off. It is exactly where I want it. Bills Plastics in Dallas did it for $20. Ed is life in the AMA and TMRA. He's been riding since he was able to swing a leg over the mini bike his dad bought him. He and his other have ridden to Alaska several times. He does a lot of custom shields.
