• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Fox Shocks

The article I read left out the word improved. I wonder why ??? Thanks for the info Trooper, Happy Thanksgiving.

If there was indeed adjustable damping, I am pretty sure that Can Am would have listed it as such. It is a big selling point when it comes to the suspension industry. They would not have left that out.

If they did, I am awfully surprised and perplexed.

Now go prepare that turkey !!! ;)

100% right trooper....... Lol but It is your living to know so, the new fox shock give you no way to adjust your shocks other than cranking the springs up and down, I know the valving is better but do the have the safety valves like Elka? And from what I can see the springs are still kinda light..... Maybe I'm wrong. But the set I have here looks pretty basic compared to your product. And Ive trying to get an answer on different springs, and have not been able to one. Also I know you guys build and set every set up to be made to work with a lot of rider and riding styles, so you don't mass produce them there made to order. The new fox shocks are pretty good product but not in the same class as you guys. May cost you a shade more to have the best! But there the best, good and cheap rarely ever go together. Happy thanks giving and for all your support on the forms trooper, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on this one.
If that is the case, then I apologise. My information stems from this:

Suspension:
» The new gas-charged, anodized-aluminum FOX Racing Shox front shocks on the Spyder RS-S models are adjustable for preload and have improved compression and rebound damping. The shocks, which provide a 33% weight reduction per shock on the stock Spyder RS shocks, wear carbon-blackcolored springs"

It mentions improved compression and rebound, but not adjustable. There is no mention of adjustable damping on the Can Am website either:

Thanks Len and Trooper for your help in understanding the difference between the two shocks. This will help all of us in choosing the right shocks for our Spyder. It's funny how simple wording can mislead us less knowledgeable people. Thanks again. :firstplace:

1- Thanks for the Spirited discussion! Sure beats "Oil?":roflblack:
2- I,m interested in the base price "without discounts" for the Elka stage 1 Base and the benefits over stock and the competition.
3- When I goggle "Elka vs Fox Shocks" I get almost an even split of favorites ?
4- Many of us don,t have the Extra $ for the Top of the Line models BUT want "Fast level cornering and an Improved rough back road ride!"
5- Reports of people riding the New Model with the Fox shocks are not in yet?:dontknow:

To be fair and completely unbiased, I cannot answer your questions. The best people to ask concerning a comparison between stock and Elka are those who have ridden both, so my best advice would be to do a search on Elka and you will find enough testimonials to keep you busy for at least an hour. ;)

To be quite honest, if the testimonials dont help you, there is really nothing that I can say that will been seen as nothing more than a boring sales pitch.
