• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Found this............

Maybe you could explain why you find it to be crude and offensive. I didn't expect to see that reaction, honestly.

I maybe completely off base, but the comment was racist to me. There are some who are offended by racist comments. It's just a guess.

The good news about this forum is the fact that when people post information about spyders they are sharing information about their spyders and helping other Spyder ryders in the process. This truly shows the giving side and compassionate side of people on this forum. That is the reason I joined this forum, to learn from others, and I have. For that I am truly thankful! Unfortunately when many people on this forum stray a bit Off Topic, we see the other side of these same people. We see the less attractive side of these folks, and it is that type of Negative input that makes people want to run away from this forum. I would love to learn more and cringe less.

To me, the OP's original comment was racist, and not funny, and I wasn't going to say anything except now it's picking up speed. As for the comment being offensive, CelticCross is entitled to his opinion. I'm not a kumbaya person, so I didn't find it offensive, just racist.
I'm inclined to agree; I thought CelticCross was reacting to its racial undertones, not religious ones. Maybe he could elaborate for us. I am interested in understanding why he found it offensive.

the plain ones are sharp and lots of color choices; last time I wore a hoodie I got an uncontrollable urge to rob a 7-11
My apologies to those who found this offensive for some reason. I don't see religious or racial motive, just a wickedly funny sense of humor.

Initially, I was going to say that the comment was racist but thought that by doing so, it would offend some/many on this site. Therefore I tried to soften my comment and just say that I found it offensive. I happen to think that racist comments, and racism itself, to be offensive. Sorry if you disagree.

Now the holiday season is just around the corner. How about we all just move on and try to enjoy the spirit of the season and the wonderful posts we find throughout SL.

One of the things that I have found refreshing on Spyderlovers is that folks have kept to the subject at hand with very little anger/insults flying. What has happened in this thread reminds me of a forum that I was on for a different brand of bike (I will not name that forum). That forum started out being pleasant and civil in the threads that dealt with the bike. The off-topic thread is where folks "let loose." However, over the course of a year and a half, that changed dramatically. Vulgar language became common place, pictures bordered on pornography, and it just became an unpleasant place to be. No thread could stay on topic without digressing into what I just mentioned. I truly hope that what this thread has become will be the exception on Spyderlovers, and not the beginning of a down hill slide.

Now, before someone flames me because of my screen name, I know there are some already formulating how to respond, my faith has nothing to do with what I have posted. What I posted is based on simply showing respect to each other. If you disagree with a post, fine, state your position without insult. That is the civil thing to do. I love this forum and I hope that it does not turn into the other forum I was a member of.

Jack, why bring religion into the mix? What he said wasn't religious in nature.

I looked at his avatar. It was quite evident. I have nothing against that except when some one uses it to elevate themselves to a higher moral ground than the rest of us.

I see nothing racist about this unless your trying to read something in this that simply is not there. Heck, I wear Lamonts "Hoodie" that I got at Spyderfest and and it gives

me all kinds of crazy Ideas and Hallucinations. I'm wearing it right now.
:D Think I will take it off though, just incase I get an uncontrollable urge to rob a 711. :joke:

You mean there is an actual moral ground on SL's?

Im sorry to disappoint you Jack, but my avatar was chosen to represent my Irish heritage - no intent whatsoever for religious connotations. Have a nice day.
