• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Found some codes on my 2024 Spyder RTL - P195B, then BUDS revealed more...

I just noticed a code of P195B
Line Pressure too low

UPDATE: Had the Spyder towed in to the dealer this past week. They hooked it up to BUDS and found several codes. The tech also took it for a ride and did experience shifting issues. They put together a list of issues and sent in to BRP. Now we wait to see how they want to proceed.
NOTE: This bike NEVER threw a check engine light related to the codes. So it’s probably a good idea to go in to see if you have any codes in the onboard computer that are not throwing a check engine light. Could save yourself a lot of aggravation.

The computer sensors can throw codes at times that are not important. Especially if they are not recurring, and even more especially if you have a low, weak, or dying battery.

Not that they should be ignored. And in your case, the fact that you're having accompanying shifting issues indicates a real problem. Hopefully, the cause is not serious and can be easily corrected.

Something that can cause this is thin oil. BRP oil typically shears down to 20 weight at between 5,000 & 5,500 miles. This, added to any other condition that might reduce oil pressure, may be enough to throw a code and give shifting problems.

It will be interesting to find out what the solution is.

So, some background information about codes. A fault code can exist in two states - Active and Occurred. The only time a code lights the light is when it is actually Active. And of course, that could be only for a second or two... or less. You won't see the light on unless you ride around staring at it. If you go into your display settings and look for Fault Codes, you only see those that are Active at that exact moment of time, also. Once a code clears itself, it becomes the status of Occurred.

So, to clarify, was P195B listed on your display - meaning that it was Active at that moment, or did the tech tell you he found it with BUDS? A code isn't really supposed to go Active and keep it a secret from you.

Using BUDS or BUDS2 - depending on the year of the machine - a Tech can access the Occurred listing. Think of it as a code history. It will tell him how many times it had occurred and when the last occurrence was based on engine hours. So for example, that code of yours pertains to the oil pressure from the HCM to the clutch circuit. It has nothing to do with engine oil pressure. I had that exact same code occur on my machine once during the break-in period. Pretty much the same day I rode it home. It occurred once at 49 minutes total engine hours. Never happened again. A lot of weird things can happen during break in while the commuters are "learning". So, I would be careful not to draw too many conclusions on a code on the Occurred list without a bit of research. For example, how many times did it occur, and was it last week or last year.

By the way, it would be interesting to know what your shifting problem is exactly - you've had this thing about a year, right? And why you had to tow it to the dealer. Inquiring minds and all that. If it turns out that this code is the root of cause of your current problem, and if the mother-ship approves, maybe you get a new HCM. Stuff happens. Sorry. Good Luck.
