There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Found smashed wires after dealer did 2013-9 warranty campaign!

Tore my bike down this weekend to install my Tri-axis bars and while removing the frunk I found this! The wires for the electric opener were smashed under the mounting point for the frunk. That would not have lasted long and it would have rubbed through and shorted out. Man I hate finding this kinda crap!!

Be on the phone to them as soon as they open up... :gaah:
Carlessness; is one thing that doesn't play well around these bikes. :banghead:
Good luck!

:agree: I agree, and send them the picture so they can see for themselves. that's the pits!!!:banghead::banghead:

I hear ya. Seems each time the bike goes in, I have to spend time fixing...

Sending pics to the dealer is a waste of time. Just results in bad feelings, denials and worse attitudes next time you have to go back. Been there and done that. BRP really needs to get its dealer service house in order. Its the pits.

last time

last time my bike was in for service when i got home i noticed the two bottom vents were loose only to find two grommets missing, one on each side. i just ordered some on line and replaced them

Man that sucks, sorry to hear this, but glad you found it!

I'm not even sure how they did this? They must have hooked up the actuator then installed the frunk. I never do it that way I always install it then plug that stuff in, now there are some connectors that have to be connected first but they can not get caught in anything.

Anyone can make a mistake. I would let them know what they did, so they can learn from it, but unless it happens again or happens to a number of people at that dealership, I'd let it go. Everyone is entitled to screw up once in a great while. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

Good point as to letting them know...nicely.

Some dealers are down right dangerous . . . here is a picture of my rear wheel, after having the recall work completed . . . they replaced the parking brake cable, but neglected to connect it to the rear brake assembly, and left parts off! There should be a grease seal and a lever assembly for the cable to connect to in this picture . . . instead, the pieces are laying on a bench or on the floor at the dealership. I've never been back there, and never will go back there.

WoW..:yikes:.. I'm afraid I would have to go back and be semi-nice..:lecturef_smilie:

Many years ago, before heading for AZ.. I had my BMW in the shop for a good going over...got to my buddy's house in the Village of Oak Creek and was razzing him about his Harley not running.. so he sat down and worked on it all day.. in the meantime I backed mine into his garage and the clutch cable broke:gaah:..He got his running, smiled, and said "well ScoTTy.. ready to go for a ride.. overnight air took a week to get from CA..

The main mechanic had an apprentice that routed the clutch cable around the frame the wrong way..why they had the clutch cable off was beyond me.. I called them..the mechanic said, I thought you were laid back, Man.. I said I am.. But if this had broke in the middle of nowhere on the interstate:banghead:

I disagree they they cannot correct an issue if they do jot know it exists. you can communicate with them and very nicely tell them what you found let them know then let them respond. You will find out allot about an organization by doing this.

You let this go and maybe next time the mistake is safety issue that gets someone hurt?

I said they should be told. By "let it go" I meant that it was nothing to get upset over or worry about.....the first time. If the tech continues to do stuff like this, then it becomes "crap" and you need a new dealer.....or at least some blood pressure medicine. :D

umm mm no offense intended here but you completely contradicted yourself in that post so it was rather tough to gleen the meaning sorry I did not interpreted it the way you meant it.

:agree:Maybe it's just me, but I understand what you said the first time.

:agree: It made sense to me as well...
You call the dealer; tell them what happened, and then don't lose any more sleep over it...
But; keep a closer eye on them in the future!

Don't have to call them, they called me. They found this post and the service mgr. called this morning and apologized and asked if there was anything they could do to make it right. I told them that I was not pissed and since the wires were not damaged all is good. I am glad they called and tried to square it away that seems to be handled well. My beef was only that if I had not been taking the bike apart to add the bars then I would not have found it till it shorted out.

Thats top notch they have the information showed empathy for the mistake and they are interested in your satisfaction....good dealer and they can train the mechanic not to duplicate the mistake.
