• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Found saddle bags that work for me...need more room for Valcourt Trip

Well, since I have at least two long trips planned for this summer, I decided I needed more space to pack stuff. I liked the look of the bags Spydergirl had for her vacation. These bags are Cortech touring saddlebags by Tourmaster. You can find them all over the place on line for $140-up, I got them locally for $153.00. I tried putting them under the seat but then I was forcing the seat down. I could do it but was uncomfortable so I decided to use the seat protector straps and put them over the back seat. Besides, if I am traveling I will also have my passenger bag in place and you won't even notice it. As far as fueling up goes, I found if I unsnap the front snaps on the passenger bag and the front snaps attached to the footpeg holds of the saddle bags, the seat comes up enough for fuel. Here are some photos of the bags, I will try to put a little description with each one.

Here are the two bags before installation.

This is a picture of the sides of the bags, you can see the small straps for attaching to the bike

Here is how I have them going over the seat, they have the rubber protective sleeves under the velcro

Here I took the other end of the snap and just wrapped it to the foot peg bracket

Here you can see it hooked to the bracket

Last but not least, I'm ready to roll, if Buddy will let me out of the driveway.

BJT, Your wife certainly doesn't need cosmetics, I'm sure she'll use the extra space for souvenirs!

Be careful, bjt--if she meets my lovely bride in June, there could be serious revenge for such remarks:

While I was looking at different routes for our Spyder Homecoming trip, my lovely bride spent an hour online reading about the various massages and spa treatments available at the Chateau Bromont.

(Somehow the word "available" I don't think translates to "free," even in French!) :'(
