• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Forward Lighting?

I've seen here on SL some Spyders with driving lights attached to the A Arms of the Spyder. I'm curious as to HOW they are attached to the A Arms? I know there is a round piece of metal under the two A Arms. Can someone describe how they are attached & where they are connected? Switched or go on with engine running? Thanks!

WELLLLLLL NOW THAT YOU MENTION IT

Actually it varies considerably ..... different Lights have different mounting brackets depending on who made it ..... some are completely DIY from sources like E-bay ( very reasonable LED 's ).....If you see someone who has a pic of them on their Spyder and you like them send the member a PM ..... Mike

Depends....

Switching depends on installation and choice. Wire them into the harness and have them operate with light of your choice or wire them independently. Mounting :agree: will be manufacturer's choice. Mine are DIY and independently switched...

Most A frame mounted lights come with proper mounting hardware. Be wary of wiring near the radiators, my last set of lights failed because of improper attention to the wiring.

Another option for front end lighting is the bumpskid. The F3 also has some nice OEM stuff.

Lucky for us, there are now many choices.

I have some from Tricled on my F3 Limited, Tomline. I have the new model mudguards and you simply replace the stock mudguard bolt with one that Tricled provides, and then they are mounted. I have then run the attached wiring along the A arms and up to a switch next to the ignition. Power is triggered off the high beam wiring.

Are you referring to these:

If so, they come from SpyderPops, a sponsor here. They adhere to the leading edge of the black plastic trim. The kit comes with the prep materials and adhesion promoter as well as OEM quality plug and play wiring connectors that run them off the circuit that powers the marker light on the front of the fender.

Nice mounting bracket!

Nice clean mounting and real nice wiring! I had to look real close to see the wiring & routing!
