Forums timing out

I have an unclassified site at work that I can use to peruse these forums. I always use the "What's New" button at the top of the screen. The problem is that lots of times I have to go back to the classified computer system for a bit and when I get back to the to the What's New forums it seems to have timed out. I was in the What's New today and it showed I had 11 pages to look at. After reading the first page I had to leave the site for a while. When I came back it wouldn't let me go to page 2. Now when I use the What's New button it says I only have 2 pages to read. Is there any way to keep it from timing out?

I was wondering about it, too. I use the "new posts" under "Forum" in the menu bar. I have assumed it shows me the new posts since the last time I was on.

What is the difference between "new Posts" and "What's new"?
