• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Forced to cancel

I swear that the Covered Bridge Ride is cursed. I was just about to tell everyone it was still on but....

After my cross-country trip, I visited my brother in Camdenton MO for a few days. We had a bit of a mishap with his cigarette boat on Lake of the Ozarks (a whole different story). Since then, I have been experiencing increasing pain in my right buttocks and lower right leg to the point where I can barely walk. Had an MRI done Wednesday which almost killed me. About 30 seconds after having the contrast dye injected, I went into anaphylactic shock and caused quite a stir. I pressed the "panic button" and the tech said "Only 12 more minutes, sir." I couldn't speak so I just held the damned button in until she got the idea that maybe I wanted out! Doctor was requested Stat and, when he arrived, they said I was purple, my blood pressure was 220, and my pulse rate was 212. Took them about an hour to get things back under control

Bottom line: lower back compression fracture

So, I'm afraid I have to cancel the Covered Bridge Ride yet again. Sorry. Maybe someone can pick up the banner and run with it. It's a good ride (a good portion of it done on Rte 32...one of the classic PA bike rides)

Sorry to read about your mishap and lower back compression fracture and I do hope your up and ryding soon.

Being the 3rd of 4 brother's, I got the feeling I was short changed when they were giving out the "Luck of the Irish" or I used it all up when I was younger.:D

I do know how you feel about missing a ryde and my :spyder2: is back in service for the dreaded DPS problems. I was looking forward to joining other's on a charity run and don't know if I'll have it back in time for July 24th.

Hope you get well soon!

Hey Man, riding all that way and then having something like this occur is a bummer. Hope you recover quickly and feel better right away.

Wow! Sorry to hear about that. Hope you feel better soon. How about doing a covered bridge ride like you posted for last October for this October.

Sorry to hear that. The contrast substances used in MRI's do not have any (or very few) reactions (compare to CT's contrast substances). If it was my tech, he/she would search for a job by know...:lecturef_smilie:

:yikes: Is that what they call the luck of the Irish? :dontknow:

Hope you heal up soon Bro.
My Irish grandmother explained the luck of the Irish to me. She said "Everything you touch turns to horses**t!" Sounds like the luck of the Irish to me. Heal fast Irish!

That's a possibility though I'm looking at planning a Fall Colors ride through CT, MA, VT, NY and PA for October. Going to discuss it with Gene (my other pain in the butt) in Gatlinburg

My mother used to tell everyone "Brian is so lucky, he'd fall in a pile o' horse ****e and come up with gold in his hand."

Back in the days when you got a life insurance policy with your airline tickets, my parents would never list me as a beneficiary for fear I'd collect!
