• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

For those that had a 13' and have upgraded to

a 14', I would appreciate your opinion. We are considering trading our 13' RT Ltd. with 11,000 miles for a 14' RT-S. We have had a few issues with our 13', but nothing that in my opinion warrants getting rid of it. Our primary reason for the upgrade are the 1330 and the 6 speed, as well as the black accents and wheels on the white RT-S. We understandably will be laying down some cash to upgrade, but the amount is fair in my mind, so those of you that upgraded from a 13', any regrets or misgivings? I appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.

i would

i would love to know what you are offered for the 13, my bike has just over 1 k on it and i was offered 15 k for it. good luck

i am going to un-hijack this thread back to the original topic.

I traded my 2013 RT for A 2014 RTS and like everyone it cost me some money, but the difference in Spyder is certainly worth it in my opinion, going from a 13 ltd to a 14 rts the only thing you might miss is the GPS, keep your luggage from your 13 as your 14 RTS will not come with any luggage, nor will it come with a cover. But the new motor and six speed transmission are well worth the trade, it is more relaxing ride and the seat is more comfortable, the bike runs much cooler and no heat problems have appeared so far.

Cruzr Joe,

Thanks for the feedback, I got the GPS worked into the deal on the 14'. I understand the frunk bag for the 13' will not fit into the 14', as the 14' frunk is a little smaller, I will likely buy the 14' luggage set, as my wife really enjoys knowing how much she can pack. It has been mentioned that riding two up on the 14' is better for the passenger as they now sit at a different height, have you noticed this?-Thanks.

2014 Spyder RT-S SE6 major improvement over 2013 RT-S SE5 I traded in at a loss

Hi,
You can read my 1st month ride report of 2,100 miles on my 2014 Spyder RT-S SE6 at RT Touring blog "Request for Observation re heat issues 2013 RT".
(I don't know how to link you to that blog).
Make sure your new 2014 Spyder RT-S SE6 build date is AFTER January 22, 2014. There are several motor oil leaks that require BRP Tech to remove engine to replace b.o. parts, etc prior to that date. My build date is Dec 23, 2013 vin 574. So far so good no major oil leak; but concerned because vin 570 had a trans slipping problem a couple of weeks ago.
I love the 2014 Spyder RT-S SE6 for 1st month 2,100 miles!! Awesome 1330cc triple motor strong torque off idle up to 6500 rpm, quiet, smooth shifting trans.
Gas tank range 175+ miles, 32-37 mpg. No heat problem; (exhaust pipe is underneath RT, radiators way up front).
Good decision to buy a new 2014 RT-S SE6!!
Enjoy.
Jim

Thanks Jim for the reply, I'll look into the build date,

good point. I expect to have minor issues, but engine removal, or losing oil as to run the engine low which may effect longevity are not what I am game for.
