• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

for the people that think

I'm thinking of changing my 2013 RT shocks as well. Did you do the install and how difficult was it? Most importantly how's the ride?

ride

i love the new shocks no more nose dive now when i get the bike back from the dealer with the new ball joints i will let you know how it is, by the way i bought the shocks from pitbull motor sports and they gave me a great deal with free shipping. 695 shipped

shocks

the ones that came on the bike sucked it was all over the road and nosed dived like you can't believe

True, the only 2013 that comes with Fox shock are the RSS version. Everything else comes with a one size fits all, non-adjustable front shock. So if you weigh 110 lbs with nothing in storage you get the same shock action as 2, 300 pound riders with the bags loaded to the hilt.

Now I am not an engineer, but it seems just a little more than strange that smarter people than I would think the same preload setting will work equally as well in both situations, and everything in-between!

Ron, I don't think the decision was made by the engineers, i.e. if you're going to want to sell a cheaper RS model, you're going to have to save pennies every way you can, and one way is by including "one size fits most" shocks in the "entry level" Spyders.

Cheaper RS, ST, STS, ST Lts, RT, RTS and RT Ltd. as well. I understand cheaper. But there is always a value to cost. Only BRP can say if this choice was a good one or for them. How many Spyders did not sell because of it? Hard to say.

I believe..!!

the RSS was the only one with the fox package. They offered the fox package for the rest. It came with an upgraded sway bar and the shocks..I ordered the kit for my RS but missed the fact it only works on the 2013's. The shocks are shorter and the bar is much wider. Maybe a good thing love my BajaRon sway bar..

Stir...stir...stir :roflblack: If the :spyder2: were a $6995.00 entry level machine, then I can see putting on generic cheapo shocks. At $17,000.00 entry level for the "cheap" :ani29:, I would expect the manufacturer to do better. Penny wise and $ foolish as the old saying goes.
