• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I plan to buy a 2014 RT. I want to sell my 2011RT. What's the best place to put it on the market? Any thoughts on a price? Thanks for the input

List it here in Spyderlovers, under the "4 Sale by owner and WTB forum" (not the RT Touring forum) and attach pictures. As for price ??? :dontknow: I can't help you there. You'll just have to do some research. Good luck !

Check for Trade In

Depending on how bad, or how soon, you want that '14, see what a dealer will offer for trade. You know its gonna be low, but it gives you a starting point for your area, and you may just be willing, as I was, to accept the trade-in to avoid the hassle of selling it yourself. I got 14500 trade for my '11 with 32K miles on it. No regrets. I could prob have waited it out and got a few more bucks but I wanted the additional 2 year Best warranty offered thru 31 Jan which is worth several hundred bucks and peace of mine. And they had one on the floor with my name on it! :D

Craig's List

Both my daughter (2011 RT Limited) and me (2010 RT-S) found our :spyder2:'s on Craig's List. Also a good place to check prices.

Let's see..!!

Here of course (with pictures), facebook (spyder owners), ebay motors, craigs list to list a few. Check with dealers trade in and possible consignment...good luck..!!

Your answer differs, depending on where you live. Craigslist does work, for local cash sales. If there's a bank on either end of the deal, I recommend using a dealer. Given the price point & lack of reputation, Spyders are priced out of the "cash deal" for many folks.

I got $18,500 from a dealer for my 2010 RTS SE5, with 9200 on the clock, on a non Spyder swap, but that was just before the '14s came out.

I bought mine (very slightly) used from this forum, and had it shipped across the US. No regrets on either end. If I ever consider another BRP product, I would buy the same way...

Like some others have said--prices will vary. I looked up KBB values and RT version shows $13,275 for trade value and $17K ball park for retail. You did not mention if yours was a A & C or a top line RT version--the above prices are the basic RT.

The demand for the new 2014's is going to flood the market with prior RT's--making for a sellers market on the dealer side. Result--lower value for trade in's.

If you do get involved in a private sale, make sure you know who you are dealing with. There are some very good scams going on to part you from your :spyder2:. I prefer to do the trade in with my dealer to avoid that drama. My dealer has offered a fair price, although I would like a little more, I don't have the hassle.

Do your research and you should be fine. Let us know what you decide.

Blue price is around 14 + change for 2011 with convenience pkg, the limited is a bit over 16K. I am seeing them going privately for a slight over but to move in a hurry the blue book is the place to start.
