• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Footrests?

At Tom's Burger ride on Saturday I saw the Madstad footrests. They looked nice BUT they seem to have only the all black option on the site, they are pricey $279 plus 38 bucks shipping! plus I'm in FL so tax also. I like the way they attach whereas the Gadget footrests appear to be attached to plastic only. Are there any other foot rest options out there? I did 300 miles on Saturday and my bad knee doesn't like the bent back Spyder riding position. thx

I look for a good set of highway pegs for my RT (had it since Aug.2010) Looked at all that was out there. Didn't like any that much until NBV Spyder RT foot rise came out. One of the best mods I made. Lemont is a sponcer on this site. I think you will like what you see

Hey fispyder where do you get the NBV footrests? They sound like what I have been looking for.

With your bad knee, you might consider a full FloorBoard. Lots of room to move your feet around and flex your knee. sealfloorboards.com

Floorboard/Footrest

I just installed a set of Seal Floorboards from John Anderson. Last night it took a total 20 min to change out the rubber on stock pegs/brake lever and bolt on the floorboards. I didn't even work up a sweat. My posture on the bike improved as well as my comfort. They look good too.:2thumbs:

I need an alternate position to stretch my legs every once in awhile, this set-up works well for me, and doesn't cost a great deal.

I got footpeg brackets from Custom Dynamics

http://www.customdynamics.com/can_am_spyder_footpegs_grips_accessories.htm#Spyder_Footrest_Brackets_

and some crashbar mounted footpads (I think from Cruiser Customizing but can't find them now), cut a small piece of angle iron and drilled for the pads without the crashbar rings.

I temp mounted them for a test run and they've been there ever since....this winter I'll trim the angle bracket and p/c the silver parts so they blend in better.

I have had my left knee replaced so I was looking for more then just pegs, I installed a set of full floorboards from Seal, John is great to deal with and he will do all he can to help you, the ride on the Spyder is really comfortable and my wife finds it really easy to mount now
