There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Foot Brake Adjustment

Hi;

I just added a set of Seal floorboards. Everything went well until I checked the brakes and found that the pedal bottoms out on the board.

Is there a simple adjustment or should I add bushings to the pedal bolts?

As always I appreciate your help!

WWhen I added my ISCI 'boards, I had to pull the brake pedal and all of that hardware off the bike... :shocked: As I recall, there was a threaded link rod that connected the pedal to the braking "guts", and it was adjustable...

I added a couple of 3/4 inch nylon bushings ( Home Depot) between the rubber foot pad and where it attached to the brake lever. Works well!

I had the same problem, had to have a guy fabricate a 1.5 inch riser to the brake pedal. If it had been two inches higher it wouldn't have a problem.

What I am worried about now is if the extra weight is causing a problem. While I was heading to the dealer to resolve the brake failure, my wife was following behind me and she said that the brake light kept coming on. Could have been when hitting a bump and that was forcing the brake pedal down. I am not sure if the extra weight is affecting the light or if it had anything to do with the brake failure. Waiting for an answer from the dealer.

Spacers

Hi All;

Thanks for your replies. I added 1" steel bushings from Ace Harddware.

Had to adjust the Sealboard brake pedal to keep from binding.

Test drove and all seems well.

Did you contact seal floorboards? I think John is his name. If there is an issue with the RT, I would think he'd want to know.

Hi all,

I don't know why this just popped up after 100 + sets but I guess it has. Chick did the easiest and probably best modification. My RS never experienced this problem. Another easy solution would be to stack 4 or 5 fender washers on top of the factory brake pedal. That would give a really solid platform to bolt the brake extension on. Either way, it should be a quick inexpensive fix. I will make my next run of brake pedals 3/4" taller. Hope this helps. PM me if you have any questions.

If you had to add 1 1/2" to your brake extension there must be something wrong with how the FloorBoards are installed. I can't imagine more than 1". That much steel is heavy and probably is causing your tail light to activate on bumps. I would try Chick's solution. No more than 1". If that doesn't fix it please PM me and we'll take it from there.

Thanks,

John
