• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Foot Board Engineering................

From what I understand the new factory floor boards have a "breakaway" feature that will literally pivot the board down out of the way if the travel on the brake pedal needs to pass below the height of the board? I actually had a self inflicted situation where my brakes needed bled but they were still working the problem was the pedal had to travel far to low to engage the brakes. Now it did trip an error message as it knows this is not correct but the fact remained the brakes were still there just the pedal was to "low". If I had boards installed on it I most likely would not have been able to activate the brakes..............do these aftermarket boards that restrict the potential of the brake pedal moving lower than normal cause any concern at all for folks? On a Canam Roadster there is after all only one way to activate the brakes? I think some of them sell a spacer or a block that needs to be installed to allow the brake pedal to function? Not sure on that detail however, but would love to hear thoughts from some of the manufacturers or users that may know? Not trying to peeve anyone off as there are many sponsors selling these items, I am sure they are all great products sold by great folks. I am just curious that's all? The cost of the BRP Boards are ridiculous, perhaps though the additional safety factor is worth it? :dontknow:

Seal Floorboards come with a 3/4", black powder coated, aluminum shim to raise the brake up further. I have sold a couple thousand sets now and have not had any negative braking feedback. I hit the brakes hard, in a panic, a while back and stopped so fast I hit the windshield. You're right, $1,000 is a lot for a short floorboard.

I installed WEB BOARDS on my 2012 Rt and they come with a spacer that goes under the rubber pad to raise the brake pedal...Works great..

It is too late now but I should have purchased your product instead of the one I bought.

Not a fan..!!

They look great and a lot of folks swear by them but I have seen too many problems with them. Mind you this was during my years in shops around the country mostly motorcycles. Roadsters are different and the new ones may be much better. Still prefer pegs..in a bind I can hook my foot under them and keep from flapping in the wind..in a pinch I can get better pressure with my heel on the brake but again thats just me..They are making some good looking ones, the oak ones rock...!!

The block idea certainly makes sense to me but I am thinking what do you do if the brakes malfunction for some reason and in order to activate them you have to push them lower than normal? I quote from a different but recent post.............."Since I've installed the ______________ Floorboards I really have to pump the brakes now to get a good pedal, and that sometimes is unnerving as the pedal sometimes goes all the way to the floorboard before I get any action." Granted the brakes need fixed but what if just once you need to stop but can't because the pedal can't travel far enough? John reports never having had a complaint in all the boards he has sold, so perhaps it is a non issue. I have just seen lots of floorboard pictures lately, and also the BRP units have this "breakaway" (I think?) feature and it just made me go :hun: Anyway all good I am sure.
