• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

do fomozas have a dot to line up with the valve stem? on the outside
side on both of mine there is a barely visible round dot . do i disregard
or go by the dot? oh, and mike , they are both marked 0817. thanks
for any info.--irv

I just mounted mine this weekend. If there is a yellow and a red dot line the red dot with the valve stem. If there is only a yellow dot then line it with the valve stem, and be aware that they are not directional but there is an inside and an outside to them that is marked on the tire. Mine had a yellow and a red dot.

very faint yellow. didnt see any red. thanks , but i do remember the old posts
about the inside and outside. friend will mount them tomorrow morning. may
wait till after johnson creek to put them on. wanting to see what all you guys
and gals are raving about. darn, theres still more than half life on the kendas
on the other wheels.

My Kendas were only half worn out too but they were scalloped and I noticed my fenders shaking a bit so out the door they went.

Tires will only get a coloured dot affixed if there is sufficient diference in the tires construction to warrant one. So out of any number of otherwise identical tires, some may have no coloured dots, some yellow dots, some red dots, & some may even have both a red dot AND a yellow dot!! However, Red dots ALWAYS trump yellow dots! If you have a tire with both a red dot & a yellow dot, ignore the yellow & align the valve to the red dot, at least initially. However, a good balancing technician may determine that it's better to put the dot directly opposite the valve stem, but if they do that it will usually be to minimise excessive weights elsewhere! So if you see a dot misaligned or opposite the valve stem AND a heap of weights somewhere else, question it!! Anything needing much than 2oz of weights probably shouldn't be fitted at all... and that goes especially so for a steer wheel except in a 'certain life threatening' emergency!!

Many colors...

I have had other color dots and circles. Apparently blue, green, purple, white and orange are also used by the manufacturer. These however mean nothing once they leave the factory and the ones to watch are red and yellow. Yellow is the weight high spot and red is the radial runout. Some tires have none it's your problem :dontknow:. The red rules cause that is the one that can give you that hopping effect cause no tire is perfectly round...

info overload! glad to get an education. this site and its members have been
invaluable to me over the last year and a half .thank you! --irv toms
