• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Fog Lights alignment

How do I know that my fog lights are aligned properly? At night if I have them on, people are always flashing they brights at me.

Are you sure it is your fogs, and not your regular headlights? Either, or both can be aimed high. Adjustment procedure for the headlights is in the Operators Guide. All it takes is a Phillips screwdriver for the RS. Foglight procedure for the RS is the same, except you aim lower by the amount the lights are mounted lower. A longer screwdriver helps on the fogs. If you can't get a level spot long enough for the book procedure, just aim at the back garage wall, and aim a little higher. Easy to fine tune if people keep flashing at you.

I was getting the same thing--- and I have HID's in all 4 lights. Got flashed A LOT when I had the fogs on. I lowered them just a bit and I no longer get flashed.

light adjustment

i've had the same problem!

first i realize the original configuration was for a single rider.
to correct the problem i decrease the front shock by 1 and in crease the back shock by 2 increments. this keap the angle of the noze of the spyder the same from one to two rider. the lower and high beam need it to be adjusted also. i was lighting the top of the trees with the high beam when i was rider two up. ( simple phillips screw driver and lower each beam )

than i adjusted my fog light at night on my street with out riding. once satisfied i have ask my wife to seat on the back and went for a ride.

still ok as of today after 2000 km.

:ohyea:

thank you

I would like to thank everyone for the feedback, I will look at that, I was not thinking about how the boss on the back would effect the angle, so will have to check that out too.

As far as I know the shocks are set at the orginal setting, so maybe I need to look at resetting them for the way we ride, usually the two of together.

Again thanks for the input

If you usually ride two up, you should adjust your lights for that condition. Both you and "the boss" seated on the Spyder and a third person to adjust the lights according to the instructions / guidelines in the owners manual (or without a third person, note where the lights are hitting on a wall / garage door, dismount and adjust the lights some then remount to check the adjustment, repeat as necessary).

can anyone tell me where the adjustment is on the fog lights? and which direction to move up.Also how far up on the wall is a good measurement. thanks

If you are talking the RS, the adjustment is a phillips screw behind the slot at the bottom of the lens, just like the headlights (explained in your manual). I'd suggest measuring the height of the foglights off the ground, and putting the center of your beam at that height...or just slightly lower.

Thanks for the Help. I had one fog light that was aimed way low.I ended up taking the Left front two panels off. Set them about 10 inches lower then headlights- about 16-17 inches off the ground.
