• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

FOBO Bike TPMS system?

So I guess I will be the first aye?

Bob if it's good enough for you it's good enough for me.
I'm going to order it tomorrow.

Bob

If you read the instructions, the warning doesn't come on until you lose 4# On the front tires while better than nothing is more than I'd like to be down before I realized it. That being said my Beemer warning doesn't come on until the pressure is down 23% That's 8.25%
If you watch the video, you can adjust the lower and higher set points

I'm interested as to why the software requires a login? What information did they ask for when you created an account?
If a login is required does the software still work if you have no internet connection?

Just an email address. They then send you a activation link. You click that link and it turn on your account and ability to program your sensors.
This is done some someone cannot just download the APP and come to your bike and deprogram a sensor and take it and actually be able to use it.
When the sensors are programmed to the APP they are locked to your account. You have to release the sensor to give it to someone else to use.
They system has a anti-theft so if someone unscrews a sensor without releasing it from the APP, it will give you a warning. Of course your phone has to be near enough to the bike to receive the BT signal.

Don't believe it will work on the 2013 RT-Limited since I can barely get a pressure gauge on the front tire valves.

The 2013 front valve stems are on the inside of the rim? My 2011 is on the outside and no where near the brake caliper. As far as hitting the rim, we shall see but the shape of my rims are rounded at the stem not a "edge" like that picture shows which I could see being a problem. So I am thinking this wont be an issue. Again we shall see. They did say it was tested on a Spyder.

Bob

ordered mine this morning. It's coming out of Ft. Myers so I might have it before the weekend
Stefan
BTW Bob I sent you a pm

I use the Hawkshead system made for spyders.Been using for 2 years and no problems
I check my tires every time that I ride with just a 1 button push.
Search Hawkshead tpms .They have a Spyder version.

Below from Specifications page with a caution.

Please ensure sufficient clearance between installed FOBO Bike sensor and any other structure. There is a risk of damage to the sensor or ripping off valve from the rim if clearance is insufficient, especially rubber valve that may deflect under strenuous vibration, for which we recommend at least 1 cm of clearance.

For long type of straight valve, sensor has a potential to interfere with brake caliper housing

For short type of straight valve, sensor may lack clearance from rim (valve and rim clearance too narrow)

I am not sure what those pictures are of, but they are not of any Spyder front wheel I have ever seen. How did you get valve stems on the inside of the wheel?
As far I know all front wheels for Spyders have the valve stem on the outside of the rim and a longer bulkier valve stem should fit.

The Hawkshead TPMS system looks like the TireGuard TPMS by ShowChrome. The only difference is the spyder display on the readout. Amazon sells it for about $50.00 less.
I discovered 2 issues when I used it on my GL1800 trike:
1. Without the rubberized jacket the unit when used on a key fob, the "bare" readout unit would mar the area surrounding the key slot.
2. The TireGuard unit is NOT water resistant. The rubberized jacket provides some degree of protection.

I read the instructions. 4# is significantly better than what my Jeep does with its TPMS.

FYI, USPS delivered my FOBO Trike system today.

I will be installing it and see how it works out.

Bob

I haven't had a chance to put it on my bike, but we went to Ft. Myers today about 150 mile trip in the car.
I put them on 3 of the wheels and it worked fine.
The thing that I noticed was the difference in heat. the rear wheel was as much as 10 deg hotter.
I need to balance the air pressure better so I can compare the pressures as we go.
Stefan

FYI the FOBO guy (who has a Harley trike) says the drive tires will run hotter. I will see if that holds true on the Spyder today e.g. the rear runs hotter.

Bob

I should receive my Fobo TPMS kit by thursday. If the wheater is good in the next weekend (no snow like last saturday with a 15cm or 6 in), I will install those TPMS and try it.
:ohyea:
