Sure would be nice to see some pictures of all these different styles of floorboards.About the time I think I've found the ones for me this question comes up again and I get all confused again. Don't want to make a buying mistake or end up buying one then wish I had gotten something different.
Bob took your advice ordered Sealboards. That was also the majority position. Thanks everyone.
Okay need a little help. I want to know what floorboards are the best. I know I will get several answers but I have seen some which were all chrome that I liked the look of also some black ones with the ends curved up that look like spider webs. They also come that you can push on the floorboards and it pushes the break pedal. It's kind of like buying wallpaper. My wife and I shopped until it all looked alike and I said "pick what you like and I'll like it too".:banghead::banghead::banghead:
I do wish there was more commentary on the various boards available. The seal boards sound nice and sturdy. The use of automotive edging is something I would like to see closer before purchasing, however. Web-boards look great, but some of the thin areas on the web around the pedal and where the turn-up is at the front concern me regarding stress cracking. The rivco and other similar boards look good, but I am still drawn to the web boards for looks, the seal boards for function. Making my own could be an option, but these days money is easier to find than time. Also, the good metal-working equipment I used to access is no longer available, which would make fabrication more tedious.
Web Boards uses 1/4" thick hot rolled plate. The steel has been tested by bending the boards flat from the turn up position with a hydraulic press with no failures. This leaves no concern that the smaller (thinner areas) will fail during normal use. I appreciate any and all concerns or suggestions that anyone has with my product. As stated on the website, these boards are guaranteed for the life of your Spyder!
I have a 2011 RT Limited and just had the Can Am boards put on. I love them Identical the to the boards they are putting on the 2013's. Go the dealer and check them out. You will fall in love. Best addition I have put on my machine since I owned it.
:agree: I like all the mentioned but I went with Diamond R because I really liked the look and size.
Sure would like to see pictures of this and get a little info on how they were installed. EVERY dealer I've talked to says the 2013 boards cannot be retrofitted on prior years.
