Floorboard Options

I've been checking out floorboard options for a couple of months. Earlier this summer I broke my femur. Hopefully, I'll be able to start riding again in October. I am concerned however, that the riding position on my 2009 RS SE5 may present some new "comfort" challenges on longer rides. Of the floorboards that I've found on the Internet, the ISCI's and the RIVCO's are my favorites. "THANKS" to Wolfee for his recent post on his RIVCO installation. I'm curious what Spyder riders think of the idea of extending the brake pedal & using the RIVCO floorboards. The ISCI's look awesome but I don't know that my wallet can support that decsion.

Comments would be greatly appreciated. I need to figure out a way to keep riding my RS.

I agree with you the ISCI floorbards are very nice and a great quality build, worth every penny but are expensive for some. I have read posts here about "Sealfloorboards" and a lot of John's customers are very happy with his floor boards. He also is a site sponsor and has great customer service . The floorboard thing is very hard to do by mail. I have such back and hip issues that I was seriously contemplating giving up my :spyder2:. Not able to ride more than 50 miles without having to dismount and get the blood circulating again.

I ended up buying the seal floorboards and they seem to be the answer for me and my back issues. I like the fact that they are large--allowing me to move around at will while on the road. I don't feel like I have to stop and get off as often now.

One issue I have found with them--the brake pedal should be built up about 1 inch--so that you don't miss it when you need it. Also keep the right foot in close proximity to where you can hit the brake if needed--ask me how I know this?

There are many options out there--just do some good homework and you will find the right one for you.

I really like the Rivco's having just traveled to Nashville TN and back. They made the difference in my comfort, though now I'm thinking about installing a handbrake also.

Talk to John at Seal, or Billy at ISCI. These are probably your two best choices; but there are others... Spend lots of time shopping, because once that's over and the buying begins... :yikes: your wallet doesn't want any regrets! :thumbup:

SFB floorboards

I'm not a floorboard person but I needed something to give me a different position to go to and I decided upon this combo, Kewlmetal and Rivco. I'm very happy with these!

I have had the same Rivco pegs along with ESI brackets for a couple of years now. I really like them. No vibrations and comfortable for me. I have the ESI because I have long legs and they put the pegs out and forward further than the Kewlmetal ones. For a normal sized person, Kewlmetal is probably better if you are going this way.
