• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Flags and Flag Mounts

If you want something done right...you turn to the experts on SyderLovers.com. As some of you know, my wife and I are Gold Star Parents. Just recently (last night), my wife asked if we could mount flags on the Spyder. I said "sure". She asked if I could find these two flags to display on the Spyder. I said "sure". Here's the kicker...She then asked me if I could have them on by the 31st of this month! I said...(wait for it)...uh...sure? Talk about putting your foot in your mouth, I think I shoved both of mine in all the way up to the kneecap. Since the both of us are at work today, I've called in a favor from a friend at one of the local florist's. The wife should be getting her "out of the blue" present shortly. I try not making it a habit of disappointing her, but I'm in the dark on this one. In less than 4 days, I need two flag poles and mounts, and two flags (specific to her order). Yes, I know. I'm not the brightest cookie in the box...but I have a good heart. Could you all steer me in the right direction so that I can get this thing off the ground? My question is this, would I be better off trying one of the many cycle shops in the area for the mounts and one of the local bases for the flags? I'm open for suggestions! Thanks in advance.

ISCI for the mounts, they are the best. Call them and ask for Jeff or Darrell and tell them your story and that you need them pronto. I'm sure that they will take care of you.

I'm sorry for your loss.

I have RIVCO flag mounts on my 2013 RT Ltd. and like them. They hold 6" x 9" flags. The Rivco part number is FH400 ($79.95); 6" x 9" flags are around $12 ea. You can find them all on this site: http://www.rivcoproducts.com/products/search.php?mode=search&page=1. They have the USA Flag, but don't believe they have the Gold Star flag. I am sure they could over night them to you. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SACRIFICE AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU - ALWAYS...

This site (http://www.rumblingpride.com/mm5/me...=RP&Product_Code=2SD013&Category_Code=FLAG-SP) has a 6" x 9" Gold Star Flag. $14.95 and they are in Florida. Might stand a chance of fast delivery. They have a large selection of 6" x 9" flags. Wish I could recommend a Spyderlovers Sponsor.

Thanks for leading me out of the dark

Thanks for everything. I will be going on each site to see if someone can help. Wife understands that I may not make it, but is as hopeful as I am. I'll let you all know the outcome.:pray:

Words cannot express my sorrow for your sacrifice but please know that I honor you and your loved one for that service .

This is what I use - very good quality and a quick add on. http://www.rivcoproducts.com/products/product.php?productid=800&cat=435&page=1

I get my flags here - http://k9az.com/hotdealswebpage/PGRflags These are 11 x 15" flags and they hold up really well. Remember to place the US flag on the right as you are looking at the back of the bike ...

They don't show a Gold Star flag but shoot them an email and see if they can help with that.

Good luck! I find my feet taste better if I add BBQ sauce ...

Several Patriot Guard members on here. We did a Mission for a Vet today.

I am terribly sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathy and my most sincere thanks for your child's service to our country. I can't imagine the pain the loss of a child causes.

On the evening of April 19th, 2006, my wife and I had just returned home from a wonderful dinner date. As we entered the house, the phone rang. My wife answered, and immediately fell to her knees. We were informed that our son, Shannon, had sustained serious injuries from an IED blast in Iraq. The caller, Army Captain Dan, explained that Shannon's actions while driving his vehicle and negotiating the terrain, saved the lives of the other soldiers in the vehicle. Shannon was flown to Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas and was met by his mother on the 21st. He sustained serious burn injuries from the waist down. Some of the injuries were bone-deep. A lot of skin graphs and other surgeries followed. Shannon put up a gallant fight for a little over 4 months. But on August 28th 2006, Shannon was called home. His mother (who is a RN), was actually assisting the staff with his rehab the night before his calling.
Every year since Shannon's passing, the entire family holds a "Celebration of Life" to remember him. It gives us time to reflect and remember better times. This year, we will hold the Celebration on the 31st of August. I was hoping to have the Flags mounted on the Spyder by then, for the ride to the cemetary. At any rate, with all the help from the SL community, I am sure to be successful by next year's Celebration. I apologize for being a little long-winded. I tend to get that way around the same time each year. Take care, and may God bless each and every one of you.

I wish I could be there to ride with the Family. The Patriot Guard may or may not have been in your area at that time. The main mission is to Honor those who served and to be there to render a Salute to those who gave their All. It is the least we can do for them. I will ride in his Honor on that day, even if not with you.
Becoming a Gold Star Family is something, no one wants to be.

Thank you for your son's service

My Daughter joined the US Army in September 2010 (thus my handle), and was scheduled to deploy in January 2013. With many prayers for her safety she was given an early discharge (honorable) in December 2012. I know the feelings of watching your kid go off to the service, and am truly sorry that you did not get the joy of your son returning home.

I too will celebrate Shannon's life and sacrifice by going out on a celebration ryde on August 31 in honor of him.Katie Reaback.jpg

Thanks to All!!!

Thanks for the support and suggestions. Just like earlier, I may not make this project come together this year, but I will be set for next year. We live around a few Military bases, so I will give them a try. I still want to give our Sponsors a try as well. Thank you all for the words of encouragement. It really means a lot. Life is precious and way too short...make the best of each day...and live it to the fullest!!! God bless you all and all that serve and have served.

Flag and Flag Mount Update BUYER BEWARE

Take this at face value.
I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all those for the help I received in accomplishing this task. The folks at RIVCO were really great in seeing that I got the Double Mount in a timely fashion. As for my dealing with the folks at RUMBLING PRIDE (as far as the Flags), let's just say that I am not at all pleased or satisfied with their service. I will try to make this brief: When I placed the order online, (07 October 2013) I never received a confirmation as stated on the website. Noone answered the phones when I tried to call. I finally received an email stating that all of my order was on back order. I asked that the order be cancelled and a full refund be credited to my account, and was given the run around for quite some time. To make a long story short, I have yet to receive my full order, or an explanation of why I have not received any compensation for the missing item. And for that matter, my emails and phone calls to the company have gone unanswered. To be put on hold in excess of 20-30 minutes each time I called, was more than I could stand. This may be an isolated incident...but I'm not buying it!!!! (So to speak). Four months should be plenty of time for any delivery...other than 2014 RT-SE6, of course.
On a personal note, I 've learned an expensive lesson about BUMBLING PRIDE...I mean RUMBLING PRIDE. It appears I will not receive a refund nor the product I ordered in good faith. So be it. Take this at face value and make your own decision. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to vent my frustrations.
