• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Flag Mast Height Question...which do you prefer?

I recently bought flag mounts and flags from www.bikerforlife.com. Mr. Harvey is great and is very helpful. A big thumbs up for him...he's a quality guy. A Harley man through and through, he went out of his way to help figure out what would be best on the Spyder!

Anyway, he sent me two post height to see which we think looks better...so, here we are...thoughts everyone? The longer one is 14 inches, the shorter is 8.5 inches...oh, if you notice that the brake lights are missing, that is because Evan has them and I'm eagerly waiting to get the LEDs on there!!!! Should look cool!

Oh, and thanks to ata for helping me figure out how to get a photo on here...hope this works...

The mount goes behind the screw on the plate...fits nicely...you'd think that you'd need 2 screws to secure it, but it looks like one is enough.

The mounts come in black and chrome...obviously, I went with black so that it'd better match the bike.

The flags can be removed quite easily...the mount would barely be visible off of the plate.

I really like the look of these mounts on the Spyder...I got them for Rolling Thunder and other rides with groups...cool thing is that you can get virtually any 6x9 flag and it'll work on the bike.

One thing I was STRONGLY told to do was to always fly the U.S. flag on the right...apparently, there's flag etiquette.

I like the taller one on the right...I think it will be more visible. I do have concerns that it will tend to hide the turn signals when underway, however, or in the wrong wind conditions. You are probably best to judge from a few car lengths back, with the lights and flashers on, to see for yourself.

RIGHT ONE. IF YOU ARE GONNA FLY EM FLY EM HIGH

I have to agree with the Master Sergeant here.

I know you're giving us a choice of preference of the two available mounts, and I don't mean to stir things, but is there any way that the mount (which appears to be on the plate) can be higher still?

I just don't like the flag that close to the ground, is all...Sorry that I don't have any bright ideas myself.

I like the right one.... or is it the left.... I guess it depends upon which direction you look.

However, is it possible to get a Y mount, so that the flag would be in the middle of the fender???

I'm looking to get two mounts on there so they tend to be on either side of the plate...

You have to attach where the two screws are on the license plate...therefore, they usually will be on the sides of the plate...

That's a good point...I do have the NMN mudflaps that act as blinkers as well...also, the angle of the picture makes the flag look more like it's in front of the flag...I'm shooting down on the bike a little...I think if I was a little lower, it'd look a little better...

Well, I hate to burst your bubble - but the flag is never supposed to be mounted on the rear of a vehicle - always on the front. I don't make the rules---- just relating them. Was just reading about this last week online.

Crud, don't tell me that...I was reading what I could about proper flag placement and all I found was that Old Glory has to be on the right side of the bike...as far as being in the front or behind, I didn't see anything related to that...

Most bikes I see have the flags on the backside...a lot of mounts are made to attach to the license plate and that certainly means the back one...most pics on flag sites show this as well...hmmm...I'll inquire more...

Maybe that's what it says somewhere but I've never seen one on the front of a motorcycle. ;)
