• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. First time Post - 1330 Spyder Reliability

Hi All, this is my very first post. I have been a member since 2013. I love the Spyders. And think of getting the RT.
I still read all of the Spyder stuff and follow some Youtubers with Spyders. My question, since the introduction of the 1330 Triples in 2014, how are they holding up, are they reliable. Has anyone been able to get over 100K miles on just one spyder? I love the F3 Limited and the RT's. And want to add one to my garage. What is the most mile anyone has on on of the 1330's.

I have a 2014 Honda Goldwing Trike now with 76K miles. Sure I have to maintain it and work on it. So would expect to do that as well with a Spyder.

I had a 2014, traded with 35k for a new carryover 2017.
I have not posted super number of miles on it yet. but in my experience the 1330 is like a rock.
Went from Wing to RT, and these are so effortless, I don't think you can go wrong.

My 2014 RT-S has been trouble free and a lot of fun.

Thank you so much everyone for the replies. I test rode an F3 last year and if was so effortless and easy to ride. I have not ridden an RT yet. But I want one.

I watched this guy tear into his RT. Was amazing and made me think maybe it is so hard to work on these. Does not have allot of subscribers, but for Spyder guys, he really should. I have watched all of them in full. He is just amazing how he tears into it an makes mods. https://www.youtube.com/user/allcd88

The engine itself.....and transmission I think......are rock solid.

Some of the electronics, not so much.

Those common problems are well documented here.

Part of the problem is finding a good dealer shop if/when you do have a problem.

I still have 2014 RT ( 42,000 + )…. had some warranty work done , and I didn't renew my BEST coverage …. I think it is a solid machine :ohyea:

Same as Mike with 52K+; parking brake motor replaced at 9K under warranty. Well designed, rugged engine.

I sold my 14 RTS SM-6 in 2017 with 123,000 miles on it. A little old lady bought it and, I believe, it is still going strong, the 1330 motor is awesome. I’m over halfway to 100,000 on my 17 F3T and it will have no problem reaching that milestone.

That is so good to hear. Thanks for sharing.

Seems like they're pretty reliable . . . except mine. My 2014 RT with about 32k miles has been towed to the dealer 3 times; a bad crankshaft position sensor, a bad fuel pump and a bad parking brake switch. It's at the dealer now due to mice gnawing the wiring, which the computer interpreted as an ABS system failure so of course it wouldn't start. I guess there's no 'mouse problem' on the fault list. Oh well.
