First Time Passenger

Had a fun experience tonight - I have been riding a long time 2 wheels mostly and just recently picked up an RT S2S and its been great. I asked my wife to come with for the canam sponsored riding class so we both got our 3 wheel endorsement (she has never driven any motorcycle). In all my years , other than when I was very young I have never been a passenger on a bike or trike - all that changed this evening! My wife really wanted to drive the S2S so she told me to hope on the passenger seat - I did and she took off ! We live in the Columbia River Gorge and have beautiful roads right at our doorstep, I will have to admit I got a view of the scenery I never had before and it was a great experience! My wife is a natural and I never even considered being a passenger - so let me tell you guys , swallow your pride and let the wife drive if you are a 1 Spyder family - you will have a blast! Just thought I would pass this experience on to those, like me, who would have never considered it! I probably need to start saving for her Christmas present, Ride On !

Sounds like fun but it isn't going to happen at my house. My F3 is setup in position 5.
I'm 6'2" and my wife is 4'10" and when she sits on the bike her foot comes nowhere near the brake.
Still waiting on the passengers seat and passenger footpegs I bought from BRP last Feb. so I can't even have her try riding as a passenger.
Hopefully she will be able to experience riding with me soon.

I had a similar situation, I'm 6' and wife is 5' so It's My 2016 F3L and now it's her 2016 RTS.....with headsets, we love it!!

I so wish I could get my wife to do that!!! But I got to tell you, when we first got our bike we live on a long dead end street in the woods and we were looking the bike over in the door yard, and picking and poking at it to figure out what every thing did, the next thing I know the wife jumps into the saddle with a sheepish look on her face, and out of her mouth comes, Jump on bitch!!!:roflblack: I LOST IT!!! And jumped on like a trooper, then she say's, How do you start this thing?? OMG, what a hoot!! Got her going, and up the street we went back and forth!! She drives her own sled, and very well I may say, keeps up with most men I know, but can't get her to jump into this, she like sitting back there and smell the roses!!! She knows we will have another bike if she dose, that would be my excuse to get the 900 Ryker!!!! So, I have to tell you and every one else that has a bride that drives,,,,I am jealous as all get out!!!!

 ... I think the most difficult thing for New drivers is .... Throttle Control .... The Spyder has enough power ( even with two on ) to scare most folks ..... A person who has never driven a Two wheel motorcycle is actually a PLUS - no habits to forget ..... enjoy .... Mike

My wife is a passenger 95% of the time. She got her motorcycle lisence primarily to be able to drive the Spyder home if something ever happened to me. She enjoys the backseat but needs to take the handlebars a bit more often.

I'm blessed to have a hubby who is just as comfortable in the passenger seat as in the driver's seat. We both had Honda Forza maxi scooters and now decided it was time for a Spyder RT. Love being able to ride together on this fun new ryde!

My girlfriend is a longtime Harley and more recently adventure bike rider so she has no qualms about driving the Spyder. And you're right, it's great to be able to switch off driving and sit in the back and enjoy the scenery!
