• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First test ride on the new 2014 RT-S 1330 and I didn't like it!

Musta missed a thread somewhere but why are you getting rid of the spyder ? Sounds like you're planning on getting a 14.....lucky guy . Momma said we should trade ours but she has to have a red one , I think she's devious....LOL

Is the fuel tank the same side or larger. They are saying 250 miles before a gas stop at 63 MPH. So that would mean a bigger fuel cell or a vast improvement in milage.
The BRP website is still listing the 2013 RTs.

250 miles is what they've run bone dry, real world is 180-220. You could squeeze more out of it but you shouldn't have to start looking for a station till you get to 180 miles+. The tank will hold another 1/2 gal. :doorag:

DOH! I had, originally, planned on waiting until January of 2014 to buy my Spyder . . . but just couldn't wait and pulled the trigger in June! Oh, well . . . I love it and am riding, so that is what matters. Now I need to wear it out so I can buy a new one!

The last ride Fred Rau and I had on them a few weeks ago had me feeling the same as Len. We spent the first day riding with the folks from BRP but the next day it was just me and Fred driving all around Quebec. The more I drove it the more I loved it. This is the real deal now as far as touring. I loved my RT's for the long haul but hated having to fill up all the time when I was traveling 1000 mile+ days. This will cut my fuel stops just about in half.

The power is not earth shattering but you'll notice as soon as you take off. No more lag on takeoffs and once to pop it in 6th you can just purr on down the road. Doesn't feel near as busy as before. Around town it's amazing that it just doesn't seem to matter what gear you're in, there's plenty of power to roll on. I honestly can't wait for my first long trip on this thing. I plan on putting the miles on her next year to see if I can break it or wear it out. :doorag:

:yes::2excited:

This really sounds like a home run. I probably won't be purchasing a new Spyder for a few years, but if the quality on the inside is a reflection of what we've seen so far I'm very excited to think that I'll be in a great brand for many years to come and will feel comfortable taking a cross-country trip.

It really sounds like they have listened to what their customers are looking for, and I would imagine that whatever lost repair revenue dealers will have will be more than made up for with higher sales and happier customers.

I'm almost afraid to take a test drive, because with a new mortgage on a second home I can't afford the upgrade right now.

I'm really :2excited: to check it out. GEEEE 70 more will match the year

model. Who missed that?. 2014 RT SE 6 1400 or 2014 RT SE 6 1600. JMHO

Well my wife will tell you I'm notorious for "rounding up". :D So don't be surprised if my 1330 is a 1350 or more when I'm talking to strangers. :chat:

Will you have one at Spyderquest.

Ok... so Len & Lamont.. how does this new beast compare (power wise) to an RS???

Will this do well in the drags against an RS?

My blue RT just might come back looking orange from Spyderfest....... :doorag:

You know Joe called me out on Facebook for a race and I guess we will know for sure then. If it beats the RS and weighs in almost 40% more there will be some tail tucking. :dontknow:

I think it's going to walk away after you hit 60mph. I will say one of the first things you'll notice as an RT owner is when you hit the throttle from a stop you don't have to guess if it's going to make it across the street before that car comes, when you hit it she moves right now, no falling on it's face first.
