I don't see myself on a two weel. I don't have the back to hold up on anything for two long without pain. I have a herniated disc bulge and tear in my lower back.Other then the fact that you don't have any riding experience you haven't said much about what YOU want. So tell us what it is that makes you want to become part of the motorcycle world? As you see people riding around what do you see yourself doing? Do you just want to commute? Pleasure ride on time off? Use for relaxation? Short rides with friends to a fun lunch spot or interesting place? How about travel? Will there be an occasional passenger no passenger or a frequent passenger? I know this looks like a lot of questions (well ok it is a lot of questions) but even if you don't answer them here you might want to think about what you really expect a Spyder to provide for you. It is so much more then basic transportation
I have used motorcycles for all of the above for 50 years and now that 2 wheels are out for me I do the same on my Spyder. I choose an RT because I love motorcycle travel,I expect my wife to be with me many times, and she like to take short rides around the area. I ride it to work,I meet old and nmake new friends etc.
So what do you want from your Spyder?
I'm in Davenport fl DavidWhere abouts in Florida are you, I'm here just south of Jacksonville. You need to go to a dealer and look at the Spyders, and sit on the different models, that way you will have a better idea of how they are. We can tell you how they feel to us, but you are the only one who is going to know what it feels like to you. I've ridden back and forth to work for 45 years, and storage is your best friend, the Spyders have a trunk up front (refered to as a frunk) and some have or can have saddlebags, the RT has a rear trunk along with the saddlebags and can carry a good bit of gear, and, in my opinion, very comfortable. If you are close to me we can get together if you would like and maybe I can answer some of your questions while you look at my RT Limited.

Will do:welcome: I think that most of your questions have been answered above.
Test sitting the various models and then test riding before purchase are both important--IMO. We are all a little different. When it comes to a big bucks purchase like the :spyder2:, you want to make sure your are getting the one that suits you best.
Keep us informed. [emoji106]

Yeah I think in florida you have to use a two weel for the test. From what I was reading I'll call the DMV to verify you have to have a motorcycle endorsement to ride a spyder. Make no sense.

Thank you for sharing the info with meHi.
Most Harley Davidson dealerships give a motorcycle safety course. They have two and three wheel classes. I just took the three wheeler class at Ocala Harley just for fun. At the end, if you pass the tests (both written and riding) they give you a card that you take to the DMV to get the endorsement put on your license. There is a 3 wheel endorsement. You don't need to take the state test if you take the class.
Have fun.
I'm half hour from Kissimmee Florida. There is a Can-Am dealer in kissimmee. I was talking to someone there today. He gave me some pointers. That would have been awesome two newbies riding. Thanks for the info brother. I think I have enough information now to help in deciding which would be good for my needs. Now I need to set a date to test ride.Yeah, that's south of Orlando isn't it? A bit far for us to get together, but I would suggest finding the closest Spyder dealer, and looking at the various models, and sitting on them, learning the different features, and take a test ride. I wish we were closer, I'd really like to help you out. I'm a new Spyder owner, a short 5 weeks and 1200 miles, and I really like mine. Good luck, and keep in mind that we are always here to answer your questions.
