• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking for as mush information as I can. I don't have a motorcycle endorsement yet. Anyone in florida please share with me any does and don'ts. What's the best place to do the classes for the endorsement around Davenport fl. I hope to be on a spyder by February. Thanks

Do you have any experience with riding ATVs or snowmobiles?
The Spyder feels much more like they do.
There's a "Dons and Don'ts" thread in here; I'd suggest that you spend some time kicking around in there.
Which model Spyder are you looking to put yourself on? :D

I've been on dirt bike three wheeler four wheelers ect. I'm not sure which spyder would be the best fit for me.

I guess that it depends on what you're used to, and what your riding style is...
The RS has a more "sporting" set of ergos. You lean forward, with your feet tucked up under you.
The ST raise you up a bit, and brings your feet forward.
The RT has the typical touring style seating
The F-3 is the cruiser of the bunch!

You get to pick what you like best! :D

I'll be riding alot to and from work. I like the sporty look but need something comfortable.I need to think ahead and not short term riding. It's a 30min ride to work.

The F3 is limited on storage. Will you be wanting to carry laptops, brief cases, tools, etc., on your commute? I have the F3 and I love riding it, but I am putting saddle bags on her for a bit more storage.

All opinion but id rule out the RS, i dont really know why they have such a sport bike riding position. Its not a sportbike and i dont think many of the crotch rocket guys are converting to spyders, although i have a sportbike lol. The most comfortable and most options is the RT but if you are not riding passengers its probably overkill. The F3T would be my second choice, at least it has a windshield and some bags, the regular f3 has nothing and the truck is half the size of the rs/rt. the riding position is nice that you can adjust it though. Plus both the RT and F3 have the new 1330 engine and 6 speed.

Most of My tools stay in the shop at work. I have a big tool box at work.saddle bags Don't Sound Like A Bad Idea You Never Now When You need the extra storage

Thanks I think the F3 would be the one I pick

The options for riding position are what make that one stand out. RT is more for riding passengers (with that big back seat) and the gizmos that come standard like the radio, cruise control, adjustable windshield etc. Just investigate them all, its an expensive decision and you want to go with what will work long term. Also keep in mind i saw a thing where in several states you cant use the spyder to get a license to ride it which makes no sense. I think thats why you dont need a motorcylce license in CA to ride one because it would be impossible to complete our test on a 3 wheels. good luck!

Yeah I think in florida you have to use a two weel for the test. From what I was reading I'll call the DMV to verify you have to have a motorcycle endorsement to ride a spyder. Make no sense.

you do, every state except CA i think. BRP actually has a website where you click your state and it tells you whats required to license it. Nice thing is you only have to pass the book test for a permit so you can start riding it right away. i kind of wish they made you take the motorcycle test here too because they will give a car license to any idiot, motorcycle is a little tougher.

Other then the fact that you don't have any riding experience you haven't said much about what YOU want. So tell us what it is that makes you want to become part of the motorcycle world? As you see people riding around what do you see yourself doing? Do you just want to commute? Pleasure ride on time off? Use for relaxation? Short rides with friends to a fun lunch spot or interesting place? How about travel? Will there be an occasional passenger no passenger or a frequent passenger? I know this looks like a lot of questions (well ok it is a lot of questions) but even if you don't answer them here you might want to think about what you really expect a Spyder to provide for you. It is so much more then basic transportation

I have used motorcycles for all of the above for 50 years and now that 2 wheels are out for me I do the same on my Spyder. I choose an RT because I love motorcycle travel,I expect my wife to be with me many times, and she like to take short rides around the area. I ride it to work,I meet old and nmake new friends etc.

So what do you want from your Spyder?
