• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First Spyder "ownership" ends as a disappointment

Bought a 2010 RS 7000k miles via eBay for $6k great looking bike ran it through BRP for recalls and searched for damages/accidents etc. all good. Paid deposit via PayPal and contacted for pickup....
thats where it goes bad multiple emails and no response found it on Craigslist and tried contacting through that medium no reply. Get eBay to look at the whole thing guy has a long history on eBay and 100% rating everything should have been good. It all started 12/18/16 eBay gives me his contact info and advises I should reach out, maybe guy was away for holidays?
I get the guy on the phone and he said "bike is sold" I'm like I know I am the guy who bought it and paid the deposit on eBay. He said he sold it cas the other day to a guy and didn't know it sold on eBay as he didn't check lately. I asked then how did you get and except my offer he said it was an automatic feature.
Well after a bit of attitude when I told him that was a bunch of crap and a douche move. I told him to refund my deposit.
Now im back to square one!

Wow...!!

That is a bad start...but fear not there are more out there and much better to deal with. We have some selling right here and you will get the best treatment working here. Dealers have some and individuals you can deal directly with. Keep trying you will find the right one...

 That sux... nojoke
I hope that he refunds your money promptly, and good luck on the next attempt!

Look at it this way. He probably did you a favor. There is a better deal out there just waiting for you. Relax and take your time until you find it.

But no argument with the fact that your prospective seller is a flake!

$7000?

That sounds like a pretty low price if it was in great shape with all upgrades .... No?

A savy buyer not needing a newer machine can no doubt find great machines. While the seller my let you know what they have invested and how they won't sell cheap, give them a good offer, if they say no, hand them you phone number / contact info if they change their mind.

There seems to be many machines to choose from, a smart seller that wants it gone will make a deal that is fair to the buyer happen.

I've always believed "price it right" and it will sell and then get a new toy! It was legit as confirmed by BRP and "other sources" guys wife didn't want to ride it and he wanted it gone so he priced it to sell, and it did, twice lol!
So some other guy/gal got my deal which I'm sure they didn't know about the eBay sale and may be a new member or old member here. Kudos to them and all the best luck with their "new toy"
back on the hunt!!! 💰💰💰💰 anyone?

Consider also, and wrong to do, but if there were two buyers, one on ebay and one via craigslist...no huge fees on CL or with PayPal.

If it sold on Craigslist, the guy pocketed a pretty good amount that did not go to ebay.

Myself, I am avoiding ebay for selling stuff, unless very valuable. Just easier to price fair in other places and if it does not sell, toss it.

So sorry for the anxiety that kind of experience causes...but (as a previous post stated) this may be a blessing in disguise! You may be able to find a good buy on an SE6 (2014 or newer). The SE6's are so, so much better. Keep looking...this year you can find some great buys on 2014 models...and you will be so glad to have an SE6 model over it's predecessors. Be patient. Keep looking up! :-)

:agree: & it does suck for a first time try,I had a number of issues delayed my first spyder & I was pissed at the time, till the sale went right (months later) & I saved additional 3k from what I started at :p .

now you know & will hopefully find soon & will be better for you.
I've always been leery of vehicle sales from eBay, big investment for no test ride, & all the other aspects.

I purchased my Spyder from eBay 3 month old 2016 F3 w/500 miles - perfectly fine. I would not buy a 5 year Spyder without test ride though from eBay.

It almost always ends up a better door opens.
Stories I could tell you---

I love R&R put another dime in the jukebox baby!
