• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First Solo Ride

Spyder has 2200 miles on her now, most of it spent with spouse on his 2 wheels. (The rest with training wheels, riding around the neighborhoods). Knew I needed to learn to ride by myself, but have been a little nervous and scared to do so. But I knew some great riding opportunities were going to be missed simply because I had no one to ride with. Too much fun riding the spyder to miss out on a great ride! Time to go SOLO. Took off work early, filled up the tank, and headed out on my own. Left the pink I normally wear at home, and felt a little safer since it wasn't so blatantly obvious I was a female riding alone. Chose a familiar route, 75 miles out and back. Paid close attention to the cagers around me, and had no problems at all. Carolina blue sky, temps at 80, and the wide open road. Can't ask for much more! It was a great ride by myself. Still prefer to ride with others, but now have the courage to go SOLO!:2thumbs:

Good for you. :congrats: It's cool isn't it! Just you and the open road. My wife does the same thing BTW, not wearing real "female" gear, putting her hair in a braid etc. It seems to work very well.

Glad to hear that you are getting out there!

Phantomlady,:congrats: on your first solo ryde. I like ryding with Hubby too, but sometimes its great to take off by myself. :D

Way to go and congrats on your first solo!

:congrats: on your solo ride. I love "stealing" my husband's spyder and riding around, enjoying the envious looks, and then seeing their suprise as they notice, "hey that's a girl!" One good things I noticed is that when I stop places I don't get approached as much by myself...I must not looke like I know anything about the spyder!
