• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First Service cost

I know prices vary from dealer to dealer and parts of the country as compared to others but is there a reasonable range as to what the first service costs ? (2014 RT SM6) I know it is a long list of things to check but check is the actual word, at 3,000 miles most of the items are still fine, I know as I've checked already.

The quote I just got from the local dealer just blew my mind ! :yikes:

And they are going to tie up the machine for "at least" TWO days !:banghead:
my dealer charged me $168 for my first service at 3000 mile checkup which was also performed.

It was done in about 3 hours.

The dealer I've been using since I bought the spyder there charged me about 350 for the first service and 500 for the second. I also had a rear tire replaced on the 2nd service and the total was just under 900. Really like the mechanic they have but the cost is outrageous. Not a lot to choose from in this area tho for warranty issues.

First Service Cost

My dealer first service charge was $226. Their hourly rate is $80 a hour. Their service charges are posted and they charge $400 for the 9300 miles service.

I didn't know that the charges for the Can Am would be so much if I did I might not have purchased it.

Talk about ridiculous

The front tires on my :f_spider: at about 14K were showing signs of cupping. I know, that's an alignment issue and it was corrected. However, I felt I wanted the tires rotated to increase longevity. Local BRP dealer quoted $150 (about 2 hr. shop rate) for dismount, remount and balance of both tires and it could be done in one day. And that was if I brought in just the tires and wheels. I in turn went to the dealer where I purchase my car tires and they did the job in 30 minutes for no charge.
Go figure........... :gaah:
