• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ok, so today after work I went to the dealer to try out a Spyder for the 1st time. I finally got my MC license last Sunday. WOW!!! I loved it! I tested a 13 STS SE5. Handling, brakes, transmission and I actually like the high revving V twin. Everything was better than I expected. The down side is the ST heat issues are for real my left calf got hot! Real HOT! So here is the real question. What is the difference between the RS & ST that one would have the heat issue & the other would not! When I got back from my ride I started looking real close at an RS & ST that were sitting side by side to try & see what is the reason for the heat issue. The only thing I could visually see is a flexible rubber piece between the lower body panel and the upper panel. I am talking about the lower panels on each side that bulge outward behind the front tires. There is a soft flexible piece (I will call it rubber) that closes up the air gap between that lower piece of Tupperware and the upper piece on the ST. That does not exist on the RS. I could clearly see the exhaust pipe through that gap on the RS on the left side but on the ST it was closed off and in my opinion trapping the additional heat behind the Tupperware that would escape on the RS. So hear is my question to all the ST owners, has anyone tried to remove this piece of (rubber) to see if it helps with the heat? I will buy one anyway, most likely a 14 in the spring. In hopes they have resolved the heat issues, but if they have not It would be great if the removal of this (rubber) piece resolves some of the heat issues. Also why can't I separate my text to make separate paragraphs on this site?

It's not the site, it's your computer...I think!

See, I just made a new paragraph. But when I was posting from my daughter's computer a while back, I had the same problem you're having. I don't know the cause, maybe someone here does? :dontknow:

The lack of paragraphs is an artifact of the way Internet Explorer 10 works with this site's software. Try compatibility mode in IE 10 or remove it and revert to IE 9.

Glad you liked your test ride. :welcome:

Welcome..!!

As stated the internet explorer is the issue. 9 works 10 does strange things..
Don't know if anyone has tried to remove that part. I know on my RS I wrapped the pipe to help with the heat coming from that area. The heat was not that bad but in the summer here it is higher...

I had planned on waiting for the 14"s as I really like the new colors, Cognac. I also want proof that the heat issue is fixed on the ST. Time will tell.
