• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First ride ever!!

There are more issues here related to bad dealers than I'd care to count. Two thoughts:

If they can't ride the thing, they certainly shouldn't service it. That, or your got a very questionable sales person (who ought to at least have been able to grab somebody more knowledgeable to help you).

There is lot of assembly done by the dealer, and if this was assembled by your dealer I'd strongly consider having another dealership take a quick look at it knowing that you have concerns. I think that BRP guarantees the alignment for something like 500 miles, and that is a key thing to check. Others here will have a much better idea than I do about what to specifically check. I'd say that even if it costs you an hour of time at another dealership, it might be money very well spent (if only for peace of mind).

CONGRATS on the new Spyder, and welcome to family!

:welcome:, the 3 Spyders that I have owned have all been manual transmissions and shifting into reverse was something I did without thinking about it. Last January I had a 2014 RT Test Spyder with the semi auto tranny and when I picked it up at the dealer they had backed it into a spot so I just took off. I had to stop along the way and pulled into a parking spot and when I went to leave I realized that I had no idea how to put the semi auto into reverse. I contemplated calling a friend but instead was able to roll it out of the space in neutral. Six weeks later when my new 2014 RT SM6 came in I had completely forgotten how to **** the manual into reverse and had to sit and think about it for quite some time. So don't feel bad that you couldn't figure it out either. :roflblack:

Welcome!
I hope they are able to send you the manual.
In the mean time:
Go to can-am.brp.com/Spyder/
Under OWNERS at the top chose Guides & Information
Click on Operator's Guides
Click on 2012
Click on Spyder 2012
Click on 2012 Spyder RT EN1-Operaton Guide
I would suggest you read it all before you ride.
Pay particular attention to how to properly check the oil.
Good Luck!

This is exactly what I needed. Thanks

I have been doing the same thing with it in neutral. Gotta get practicing!

You all are coming through in the clutch for us. I had planned on using Honda of WS for my service work. I have lots of reading to do and there is lots of fun to be had. Thanks to everyone!
