There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. First Overnight Trip

We took the :spyder2: for our first overnight trip this weekend. We left Midland about noon on Friday, heading for Ft. Davis. I didn't know it was going to be the hottest day of the year so far. By the time we got to Pecos, it was showing 114 on the temp display. I have to say, the :spyder2: did a better job with the heat than we did. We learned real fast to stop every 30-40 miles and drink water and wet down our heads and bandanas. The attached pic was taken at a rest stop just outside Balmorhea, TX on I-10. For a large part of the trip, we were running 75 into a 20-30 mph headwind, 2-up and pulling the RT-622. The :spyder2: never did get hot although the right side heat was a little tough on my toes and ankle (gotta get the splash guard off and get the shield on). Thank goodness for the trailer. It allowed us to carry plenty of water and ice along with everything else we needed. Fuel mileage varied widely, from 22.5 on Friday to just over 31 on the way home. All in all, we had a great time and can't wait to schedule another trip soon.

:2thumbs:

Glad to hear the Spyder performed well on your trip. It was a very good thing that you were able to stay hydrated as well.

And I thought 107 was hot! Wow! Glad y'all had a good time and enjoyed the trip in spite of the heat. We took an afternoon ride of about 150 miles on Thursday and wore our kool vests for the first time this year. Had to wet them again about half way through the ride but the high temp and low humidity meant they worked really well and kept us pretty comfortable. Unfortunately, they don't do much for the heat on my right foot. The RT did well, though.

Took the same route last week in the same temps? That will take it out of you for sure.

Out here we learn that the cool vests and neck coolers are the only way to ride in the summer. Go out early and come home before it gets above 110. A couple of bottles of cold water helps also.

Thanks. Sounds like I am going to have to check into those vests. I think they would have helped a bunch. Sounds like you had a good trip also, although we shouldn't have to worry about these triple-digit temps until July or August. But, this has been a weird year so far, with all of the wildfires and only 1/2 inch of rain since September.
