• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First oil change

I performed my first oil change yesterday on my new RT SE5. Thanks to Lamonster and others that have posted DIY information here I was able to get everything done with out much of a problem. The next time it will be much easier I'm sure. I also replaced the front speakers with the Polk Audio that have been suggested here. I have the back ones, but haven't got around to doing those yet. I just wanted to thank everyone for taking the time to post information here on DIY projects. It does make it much easier.

Thanks, I'm a former Harley owner and switched to the Spyder. My last HD was a 2008 Ultra Classic and after four years of owning it I had only put 3100 miles on it. I already see me putting many many more miles on the Spyder. Mine is as I call it an Arrest Me Red RT SE5 and I'm loving it!!

:welcome: and :congrats:..............I bet it won't take you as long to put on 3K miles on the Spyder:roflblack:. Ryde Safe!

The first oil change on these machines is "interesting" and takes a while. By the 3rd time you will have it done in 30 minutes - getting hex and star(torqs) sockets is a good investment and makes the job easier.

Having the right tools certainly makes it much easier. Both of my cars are German, thus metric and I did have all of the proper tools to begin with. Your right, I bet the next time takes a lot less time.
