• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First long ride with the wife,.......seat has got to go!

One of our sponsors Motorcycle Dave does custom seats.
I don't have a seat from Dave, but I have looked into his operation and read reviews. Seems like he does quality custom work. I'd give him a call and tell him exactly what is causing concern. See if he can help you.

I've also read a lot of good reviews about the DayLong seats. The others seem to have mixed review - good for some, not so good for others.

I feel fortunate that with three Spyders, all with stock seats, that we have ridden 100000 miles and always felt comfortable. I hope there is comfort in your future
My stock Spyder seat is the most comfortable seat I've ever had. But I'm 6' and 165 pounds.

Me and the wife never got to go on any long rides on the 13 (whole nother story) and now with the 14 we finally got our first long ride in and the BRP "comfort" seat has got to go! Wife said no more long rides till we figure something out. I must admit that about 170 or so miles in my ass was done! 200 in and she was ready to rent a car to get home. I have tried the Ultimate but it caused me "hot spots" on the back of my thighs, I have set on Corbins and I feel cramped so now were looking into a Russell Day-long seat to see if I can get some decent comfort on the Spyder.

You cannot go wrong with the day-long as that has been the best seat I have ever had on a motorcycle. They are spendie, but along the same lines as other custom seats. They have the best warranty in the business and give you months to try it out and after two attempts to make it right will give you your money back if you don't like it.

You do have to give them a seat so do this when you have down time like winter, or pick up someone's take off to send them.

Let us know what you end up doing.

Yep I think this is the way we are leaning. I do have the stock 14 seat that is not in use because we are using the "comfort" seat so I may just send them that one. I have my 05 Honda VTX1800 up for sale and when it goes that's the seat money. I gotta get this solved before next years riding season!

I found the stock seat comfortable, but hot. Added a Air Hawk, and a sheepskin, and all is good. Ultimate, Corbin and Russell are all good companies. You just have to find one that fits your body.
