• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First impressions...

Mickey, have a safe trip and I sure look forward to seeing your photos and reading your thoughts as you journey on the long haul home.

Sorry I am a bit late to the party.

:welcome: Mickey, and :congrats: on being selected as one of the new Ambassadors. I hope your journey back home on your new Spyder from LA has been everything you hoped it would be and more. Best of luck to you, and I am looking forward to meeting you in Maggie Valley.

I think by the time you hit Ohio you will have your list of mods all made out and prioritized!:2thumbs:

Have a safe ryde! Sounds like a blast:doorag:

You are correct, haha. I spent over an hour last night shopping the sponsor pages here...on my phone!!

Spyderwolf - thanks so much!! I look forward to meeting you, too!

What are your chief comfort concerns at this point, and how far into your journey are you?

I eventually figured out I needed to change out my seat and went with the BRP Comfort Seat and have had great results with it. Of course if I was ryding 3,000 miles after just getting my Spyder I probably would have come to that conclusion much sooner. I am a bit on the heavy side and would end up feeling the plastic under the stock seat after a while.

I have the touring seat already, so I'm good there. I'm a bit on the heavy side as well. My two main issues will be extending the handlebars a bit and some way to extend my legs a little. I've been on it for six or seven hours a day for the past five days, and I start to feel it after awhile.

That makes sense. The handlebar extensions may change your seating position some, so it will be something else to get used to after adding them. I have the 1" BRP Riser on mine, while my wife has 3" Risers on hers. I am sure it is just something about me, as many others love those risers, but I am not very comfortable in that fully upright seating position on the RS. Highway pegs, or floorboards, sound like they may definitely be in your future for stretching your legs.

Best of luck with your shopping list, as you have already found there is a lot to choose from.
