• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First 2 months on our RTS

We picked up our Spyder 2 months ago today. She will roll over 5000 miles today too. This has been without a doubt the most enjoyable ride that I have ever owned. I ended up with SE5 instead of the SM5 due to a paperwork mistake on the crate that the Spyder was in but I am glad this mistake happened. I've been very satisfied with the semi auto.
A little tweeking on the suspension and some time in the saddle getting the feel for it and I am as comfortable riding in any situation as I was on our Goldwings.

To any prospective Spyder owners out there, a few words. It's not a motorcyle. One 20 min test ride is not a good decision making thing. Do several test rides, if your dealer doesn't agree with this, find another one. I feel safer on the Spyder than any bike I have ever been on. The wide stance and well lite up front lets people know that you are there. The stability of being on 3 wheels, especially 2 in front and 1 in rear is very nice. It does take getting used to though.......but well worth it.

The one issue that I had was handled by the dealer and by BRP as good as anyone could possibly want.

Overall, If I could swap my Spyder for any bike, dead even right now, I would not. It does everything I want, I am able to sit in the saddle longer than any of our Goldwings. It looks awsome, has plenty of power, love the semi auto.

Whats in the future for her......Passenger arm rests, floorboards/hwy pegs, heated seat, taller/wider windshield, HID headlights, a pet carrier seat so that Bree (our Border Collie) can do some riding too, some LED's and most of all.......a trip to Colorado in the spring of 2012.

Thanks to BRP for a very cool ride and thanks to all on Spyder Lovers for everything!!!!
See Ya'll on the road!!!!!!

Make plans to come to Spyderfest in April (4/25 to 4/29} on your way to Colorado in the spring. You can ryde with 300-400 other Spyders:2thumbs:.

Great to hear & WELCOME to the SpYderHood

:thumbup::congrats: & :welcome:

I'm so glad you've had a great experience so far & believe it or not, IT DOES get even BETTER with the more time you have in the saddle. Also good to see another Spyder Ryder with the ambitions of taking along your dog  I know in my case, I'm just LUCKY that TEDDY allows me to drive HIM around on HIS SpYder :roflblack: Be careful tho, as they tend to get SPOILED ROTTEN really fast on the SpYder :D and if you think you get attention whenever you stop now, IT's NOTHING COMPARED TO WHEN PEOPLE SEE A SPYDER RYDE'N POOCH. YOU WILL BE MOBBED!!! Teddy now even has his OWN Security Detail whenever we ryde with the Ohio Spyder Ryders

Again, Welcome & we look forward to see'n pics of your new ryde & when you get your pooch up & ryde'n, we GOTTA SEE IT

I think you have described the Spyder experience as well as anyone ever did. Thanks for the well-chosen words!

Very good writeup. I have a problem with loving my GW too. I have had it for ten years and will keep it a while longer. I admit here, but not to my Hill Country Road Riders group, that I am liking BR1 better than my Wing. I am riding BR1 more and more and leaving my Wing in the barn. As I have said before, I had to ride my Spyder over 500 miles before I was comfortable with it. It took a few days to get the shocks and air pressures to my liking. It is a keeper.

As a side note, I rode my Wing, Punkin', last Saturday on our weekly breakfast ride. (250 miles) I had not ridden him for four weeks. It was heavier in the steering, but once up to speed, smooth as silk. The GW CB is MUCH better than the Spyder. The Wing has a easier to use and better all around audio system. BR1 will accelerate, pass, cruse, run, etc as well as the Wing....ya just gotta use the Rotax like it was designed to be used.

Good reviews make me feel all warm and fuzzy. It seems that all we hear about is problems, makes sense for the most part, but it gets a little old. I've had a few issues with my Spyder but for the most part I absolutely love it. My wife said the other day that he Spyder is probably the best money we've ever spent, for a toy. It's introduced us to people we would have never met if we had not bought it, we've already seen places that probably would still be on our wish list and it goes on and on. It allows us to spend quality time together with new friends, very few of them own Spyders but I've had a few show a lot of interest. Most of my ryding is with the Legion Riders and unfortunately, for our post anyway, the majority of us can be considered senion citizens and my Spyder is the first one the've seen up close and personal. It suddenly dawns on them that it makes a whole lot of sense as we age to get off 2 and onto 3 so that we can continue to enjoy the breeze in our faces.

Ryding a Spyder is a blast....

That's really cool. Take it from me and the other SpyderLovers, There's a lot more riding yet to be had! Enjoy and hope see you on the
road sometime.

:welcome: and :congrats: on the 5K in just two months.

I find your comments to be right on with my experience as well as what many others have posted.

It really is a great machine.

It is so refreshing tohear about how cool the Spyder is. I'v out 10,000 on my RT SE5 since I bought it at Spyderfest in April. I love it, love it, love it!

Ride in comfort,

John
