There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. First 10,000 mile review. (sweet-n-simple)

I bought my beast new this past February. Since then I managed 10,000 miles.
I thought it would be nice to share my thoughts with everyone.
Sweet-n-simple....

1. No mechanical issues whatsoever.
2. My dealer installed the BRP idler around 2,000 miles, no issues with it to date, cost with dealer installation $60.00
3. My dealer performed the first service at 3,000 miles, no issues, cost was just under $200.00 USD.
4. BajaRon sway bar installed after much heated debate, love it, cost to purchase & dealer installation was roughly $400.00
5. 9,300 mile service performed by my dealer, no issues, cost just under $200.00.
6. My beast has never burped, farted or given me any reason to divorce her. She's still running strong on the same set of tires.
7. All my accessories have made the beast more enjoyable and have enabled me to rack up the miles.
8. My only "complaint" would be to get the beast.........smoother. The BRP idler helped ALOT.....but.....I would like it......smoother.;)

Nice to see a good review. I just wish I had more time to ride the darn thing. 3000 miles in 1 year. Hope you continue to enjoy it.

Glad to hear that you are enjoying your bike. I have owned my 2016 F3T for a little over 2 months and have aquired a hair over 4k miles. I am still amazed by this bike. It had it's first hic up today. I took a short ride through the neighborhood and stopped. After forgetting to set the parking brake, I got the irritating beep. After trying to turn bike on and set the brake, the brake would not set, and the bike would not move. I tried a couple of times, but nothing, and the check engine light came on. I removed the key and let it set for 10 minutes. No problems when I went back out. I think it was just a computer gremlin.
My only other complaint is that (although it is quite quick) it is a little slower on straight line performance compared to my 2012 RSS. Doesn't like burnouts as much either. guess I will have to grow up.;)

Great review....

always good to see the other side...I am along for the ryde as well..almost 38,000 carefree miles :ohyea: must have been the same batch just different model...:joke:

Before I purchased my beast I would walk up to every Spyder owner at rallies and ask their opinion. I really wanted to know if they experienced mechanical issues as reliability was a HUGE deal breaker for me. I could not find a single person who experienced anything major....or even minor. I went as far as to imply they were lying to spark a debate, I lost every time. I do that because of my experience with Harley Davidson where every owner "says" they never experience any issues and after further insight I find many had issues. My ownership of a Harley Ultra Classic and its many problems during ownership has me asking about reliability reliability reliability!

My point is that in speaking with people IN PERSON is how you get true feedback of the info you need. This forum is good but I almost did not buy my beast because of the reliability issues I was reading from threads. One poster stated a reasonable statement that led me to buying a Spyder, they stated that some people only post when they have a problem. This seems to be a true statement from both my experience as an owner/talking to actual owners vs this forum. Digital vs real people are vastly different.

If you want smoother you might ask your dealer to adjust your belt tension to the lowest acceptable tension; and up grade to Doc's tensioner.

I am considering Doc's but I want to know if his is better. Will it last longer AND reduce vibration more? I'm a glutton....I want both.

The dual bearing setup in Doc's is much better! nojoke

Glad to hear that it's all "Miles & Smiles" so far!

Actually changing the belt tension will just move the range you feel the vibration. Tighter worked better on mine. Dealer down south had it way off.. my tech thought they might have adjusted it without lifting the belt tensioner up.

My only complaint with my beast is vibration. Some call it "harmonic" but I prefer annoying and not something that belongs on a $30,000 machine. The BRP idler is OK but keeping my eyes open for other solutions.

How many threads you going to complain about this on? Just saying..:bowdown::bowdown::clap::clap::clap::clap:

Only on this thread and one other or when every other owner posts the same thing. Its a major issue with many owners and apparently it pops up often by many bloggers on this forum. When I speak with owners in person they mention it soon after we meet. I believe BRP understood this and was the reason they came up with their quick fix. I also believe there are aftermarket manufacturers cashing in on their "fixes" to this issue. None of this would be going on if this was a minor issue. My thoughts.
