• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Finally, I'm getting a Spyder!!!!!

Sorry, I have some pictures, I just have not downloaded them yet. It is a 2013 ST-S SE5 in Circuit Yellow, seems to be a popular color among ST's.

I had the wiggle issue, also.

Yeah, I am planning to get the sway bar and links, if this makes it handle better, the Spyder will truly be even more awesome!!!!!!!!!!! It handle really good now!
My only issue so far seems to be me. I get some wiggle in the steering when I first start riding but once I relax and give it a chance the wiggle goes away. You are right, I do love riding the Spyder.
My previous ride was a 400cc scooter, so I am infatuated with the increase in horsepower!!!!!!!!!!:yes::yes:

I added an Alaska Leather sheepskin to my seat. Only change so far.

Had a nice, young, lady rider tell me I was riding like a 2-wheeler... Trying to over-control and that I was overly stiff on my grip and arms. After forcing myself to relax and lighten up, the wiggle went away! Still have to tell occasionally myself on the freeway not to counter-steer :)

sduskin, I agree with the over controlling issue! I had a 100 ride home from the dealer, the first 10 miles were a bit tense, then I remembered reading here on spyderlovers that being tense and having too tight a grip on the handlebar would result in a wiggle, so I relaxed and enjoyed the rest of the ride home! Now if I can get the heat issue fixed, I will be a happy Spyder owner!!! The first few times I rode the Spyder I had to remind myself to relax as I would start off having a wiggle. The more I ride, the less I have to remind myself.

Does your bike have the newer 2014+ air intake panels? Many have had them installed under warranty

ARCTIC, I do not have the 2014 panels, yet, I am attempting to get them installed. BRP tells me any authorized dealer can help me. The dealer I bought the Spyder from is 100 miles from my home. There is another about 30 miles away and they are installing the BajaRon sway bar for me (they were recommended by BajaRon, he only lives 40 miles from me), so I may ask them about the panel change.

Those panels removed any heat issues whatsoever on my machine
Many have gotten them under warranty, the dealer might even be nice and ship them to your residence if you live a ways away. The toughest part of the installation is getting the decals centered on the panel

Congrats

Congratulations on you new bike. You will enjoy the heck out of it and this forum. Lots of good people and good information. Ride SAFE.

Good news!

I heard from the dealer where I bought my Spyder today. The service manager told me that he has ordered all the parts for my heat fix! It is not just changing the panels, there are several things that either get replaced or moved and this will take 1 mechanic a full day to complete. I'm just happy that the problem will be resolved.:clap:

Interesting. .... let us know what things they actually do. Hopefully they know you have a ST not an RT:yikes:

Yes, they know, the service manager was the one who delivered it to me as I was late in the day getting there. I just have to try to be patient, which is not easy for me.

WOW!!!!!

Well, I got the BajaRon sway bar and billet Hiem links installed today! Amazing difference!!!! I rode about 40 miles home in and out of showers, didn't care!
It was like a different machine!!!!! From being spooky going into a turn to being on rails, so much more confidence inspiring!!!!:yes::yes::yes: I LOVE IT!!!!!!!
Now I am really loving my Spyder!!!!!!!:thumbup:

ST-S

Were you able to get the new panels installed while at the dealer? Also be sure that the dealer did the recall on the brake master cylinder. In the spring and summer of 2013, some ST owners were having a problem with the plastic top of the brake master cylinder melting due to engine heat. I had that problem and there was a recall where insulation was applied to the top of the master cylinder and a new block off piece was installed. No problems since.

JKMSpyder, no panels this trip. The dealers are not doing just the panels, they are doing the procedure released on 5/26/15 as the RT recall. BRP has evidently mandated that this is the official procedure. This is my take after getting the same response from 2 different dealerships. They are both waiting for "kits" to arrive from BRP to install the "Heat Fix".
I'm hoping this comes in pretty soon, the riding experience, especially in stop and go traffic is more like sitting in a 140°F sauna!!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad:
However, the improvement of the handling is overshadowing the heat issue for moment. Thanks to BajaRon!!!!!!:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

Are you still digging the ride?? :D

Bob, YES! Even more now that I had a BajaRon sway bar and billet links installed. The Spyder corners so much better!!!!!! However, I do not have all the bugs on my teeth, but that is OK. I did that when I was much younger. Thanks for asking.

All y'all take care and ride safe!!!!!:thumbup:

Nice Ride

Congrats on your new spyder. Many members here are very knowledgeable of spyders and offer a lot of info on problems and add on accessories. I have spent a lot of time reading through the older posts. I would recommend this to new members. Enjoy your spyder and Ride Safe.
