• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Finally have our 2014 Cognac RTS SE6

In December we put a deposit down on a 2014 RTS which was due in the dealership in April. Also had to sell our Goldwing first. Well everything finally came together. The spyder arrived in the dealership about 2 weeks ago at about the same time as I got a serious offer on our Wing. The Wing deal finalized last week and then today my wife and I went to pick up our new toy.
It looks great and the 90 km ryde home was fun. Ryding the Spyder really does feel different from 2 wheels but by the time I got it home it was already starting to feel more normal. It was really just the cornering at highway speed that felt a little strange but I know this will disappear with some time on the seat. I think I only reached for the non existent clutch twice and the non existent front break lever once. Tomorrow I can start messing around with exploring all the cool technology and learning more about it.
Happy that I can finally consider myself an official Spyder Ryder rather than a lurker.
Wife took some pictures at the dealership and I'll try to figure out how to post a couple soon just to make everything official.
Thanks to SL for being such an informative site.

Cheers, Gary

Welcome..!! Welcome..!!

to both the spyder world and an active member here. Yes you will get better with every ryde. Relax that grip these machines track well. Glad you enjoyed your first ryde even if it was only home. Bet you wanted to go on...congratulations...:ohyea::ohyea:

Many congratulations, Gary! So you kept going for the clutch lever?
How many times did you put your foot down at an intersection/traffic light? :opps:

Thanks Everyone

For the congrats and warm welcome. Previously posting without actually having a spyder just didn't feel quite right.

Chupaca: I actually did have a pretty relaxed grip and found that the spyder does track well in a straight line. The only time I tightened up was when it started to drift in a corner at about 60 mph  and I had to ease off and regain my line. Always remember to look where you want to go!!

OJ UK: Yup, only reached for the clutch a couple, maybe 3 times but no, didn't try to put my feet down. Wouldn't have helped anyway as I don't think I could reach.

The Cognac colour really is beautiful especially in bright sun light and it is growing on me more. Funny thing was that when I was registering the bike for the road, the gal who came to the dealership to do the paper work asked what colour it was. I said Cognac. She said the closest 3 options available in her system was Brown, Orange or Red. I had to go with Orange cause it kind of is. So now our province has us registered as owning an "Orange" bike.

Again thanks, Gary

:congrats: welcome to the world of the 1330 and to the Cognac Crew..*Cognac Up...Drink* Enjoy the ryde and be safe
