• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Finally got my spyder back!

Got the :spyder2: back, not sure how I feel about BRP though. This was the second time I have taken my :spyder2: in for the VSS Fault check DPS since the DPS recall. The dealer hooked it up to BUDS and re-calibrated the DPS. The dealer wanted to replace the DPS and start from there, but BRP told them to re-calibrate and if it happens again then replace it.:banghead: I hope that it doesn't come to that. We shall see. :2thumbs: The weather is getting good.:ohyea:Safe riding to all.

When they recalibrated it, did that include the Steering Angle Sensor? If so then you will hopefully be good to go. It may also help to do some tight figure 8's in a parking lot to check the outer limits of the steering. If your turn signals fail to cancel themselves after you turn, that is a good sign your Steering Angle Sensor is off.

I am glad to hear you got it back, and wish you the best with it.

Hey Web Slinger, may I ask what part of MI you are in and what dealer you are going to? Maybe someone in your part of the state can give you some recommendations for better service.

DPS bad again! 3rd time since recall.

I just want to start by saying :cus::cus::cus::cus::cus::cus::cus::cus: !

Now, I'm not sure what to do. I got my :spyder2: back on Saturday, took it out Sunday for a test ride and low and behold the VSS Fault check your DPS showed up again! Now, this is the third time I will have to take it to the dealer. The dealer I take it to is C&C sports in Brighton Mi. They are only a couple of miles from my house which is good because the :cus: thing keeps on faulting. I really like the spyder but I am not sure it's worth it. I haven't even made the first payment yet. Any thoughts are appreciated!:dontknow:

Have mine only a month and the first two weeks had me a bit annoyed considering the two trips and 11 days at the dealer.(VSS & DSP and of course Limp mode warning)
Since the adjustments running perfectly. Considering the complexity of this machine I can deal with a few early bugs. I would buy it again, especially from my dealer.

Contact Carlo in BRP Customer service. C & C should be doing everything to make this right for you and pretty darn quick considering how new it is. They should be test riding it for you after their "fix". Please don't give up on the spyder, once you have it working the way you want, the love is unbelievable.

:agree:

After my DPS recall replacement I had the same issue when I got 24 miles away from the dealership. I turned around and took it back. They recalibrated the DPS, reset the Steering Angle Sensor, and may have done something with the Torque Sensor as well. The owner then took it for a spirited test ryde for a while and didn't have any issues. It has been trouble free ever since. They have replaced a bunch of units and stated mine was the first one they had to recalibrate everything on. There is a good chance your dealer is missing one of these pieces of the puzzle for getting it all worked out.

+1 I think that sometimes these mechanics get complacent and don't read or just skim BRP's instructions on certain procedures. I seem to recall that others have had problems in the past where their service guy was telling them he was doing everything right and, through discussion and insight from this board, the owner was able to go to the service guy and get them to follow the instructions to the letter and everything worked out right.

dps limp home

I purchased my Spyder rt s from Teds Motorcycle World in Alton Illinois. I put seven miles on my bike when the dps limp home mode came on. I took it back ,139 miles one way. They told me they had inserted the wrong codes in it. I took it back home , next trip one week later i got nine miles and the same code flashed on. They picked it up, put a new computer modual from one in the crate on,delivered it to me. We now have 800 + miles and not problem one. The dealer was fantastic to work with through this issue. We love our spyder

Glad to hear you have a dealer that knows how to follow procedure and straighten out issues like this. Many are not that fortunate. I would definitely keep using them to help make sure they don't go out of business anytime soon.
