• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well today I brought home new to me a 2014 RS with less than 600 miles on it. Unfortunately I drove the 65 miles home in pouring rain. Things I noticed in my ride. Hydro planing with the rear tire. First time it happened I thought I hit a oil slick or something. After the third time I figured it out. That was scary. I live on a gravel road so the bike is pretty dirty right now. So no pictures just yet. I got a sweet deal on a pair of V35 bags and just ebay'ed a order from a company in Italy for the mounting brackets. Hated to go out of country but could not find anything in the states. I also ordered and received the gravel guard for the belt. That is something I really need.
I probably will get handle bar set backs on in the future. And some other stuff. Right now waiting for the rain to stop, clean my bike and get it registered with the DMV. :D:D:D

I picked up my Spyder from the North Island and living on the South had to sail back across on the ferry. When I went to get my Spyder a car parked behind me had leaked oil or diesel and it had gone under my rear tyre. I can tell you oily rear tyre on a metal deck has no grip at all - it wouldn't move forward and the wheel spun until nanny would cut the power. Finally got it moving forward very slowly with the backend spinning a fishtailing until I hit the tarmac and could scrub it off. Very embarrassing.

I've not really had aqua-planing as such though have had it loose traction a little when doing tight turns etc. I actually enjoy riding my Spyder in the rain, well more than a bike, as it generally feels much safer.

Anyway pleased you found the right Spyder for you and hope the weather stays sweet.
