• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Finally got her home....

Big shout-out to Len (Pitbull) and Lamont for helping me get this bike put together. Very happy with the results and and even more satisfied with the way this bike handles in adverse conditions already! Rode down to Springfield, MO from Green Lake, WI this past Tues. on the v-rod - left around 6:45 AM and arrived down in Springfield around 5:15. Hit some big rains between Rockford, IL and St. Louis, which I knew I was going to get hit with, hoping it wasn't going to be quite as heavy as it was. After Len and Lamont did their magic on Weds., which included on the spot check-over and evaluation of mounting possibilities of the v-rod bags on the new bike, in a matter of a few hours, my bike was ready to go. Cannot describe what a satisfying ride this bike is. Left Springfield around 4:00 Wedsnesday afternoon and made it to Des Moines, IA to see family around 10:00 pm. Yesterday, came home in rain, big wind gusts, and 50+ temps to get home. This bike is awesome. I had total trust in my v-rod and how it handled bad conditions, but this bike just totally raises the bar.
Also a big shout-out to Spyderpops for getting the bumpskid to Pitbull over a holiday weekend (THANK YOU!!!) and for producing such a great quality product.
And another shout-out to Wiredux for his light products, the side blinkers and rear light! They look and work great!
For those of you who have been looking at the driving lights that Lamonster Garage is making, they are awesome. Really lit up my night drive to Des Moines. Thank you again, Lamont and Len!

Looks great.. Exciting to see more of those black F3S on the road. Couldn't agree more with your assessment. The handling of this machine - good weather or bad is fantastic.

That looks really nice. The bags look like they were made for it. What kind/make are they. Looks like the mounting brackets are another product for Len or Lamonster to add to their catalog of quality Spyder products. It really is a sweet looking ride.

Thanks so much - I really am pleased with how they came out.

The bags were made by HD for the original v-rod with the narrow rear fender. They had a chrome lid with the body of the bag painted to match the bike. They lock and are pretty well sealed, even in the driving rain I rode in yesterday. I bought them used several years ago off the v-rod forum (1130cc.com) and had some brackets fabricated for the wider fender on my Night Rod Special. I just had them painted all black to match the v-rod. I doubt they hold much more or even maybe as much as the OEM saddlebags, but for the cost of Lamont's grab rail bracket and some modification, I can't complain about the cost. Lamont's mounting was so clean it just absolutely thrills me, actually much, much cleaner than what I had on the v-rod. The bags have been discontinued but you can come across them occasionally on E-bay, 1130cc, and some dealers may still have them in stock and might be glad to sell them. When I looked at the inside mounting holes of the bags before I went to Springfield, I realized they were only about an inch off the mounting sites on the F3, so I really thought this could work, and I am so glad Lamont made it possible.

:congrats: :dg1::dg1::dg1:

It's nice to hear there are some bags that can be re-engineered to work with the F3. Looking good!:thumbup:

Add a tail bag and...

I'm set for a trip to Ohio the last week of June. I also used this bag on the v-rod and it definitely increases storage capacity. Took the bike for a spin with the tail bag and it sat very well.
