Finally an RXX Spyder snowmobile

I was at Valcourt Quebec for 3 days to attend t 31st annual Grand Prix de Valcourt friday thru sunday and they now have a kit for the spyder. It was a blast to see this thing rip up the snow. I cant wait to take a test ride on this. I have over 300 photos that I took at the museum and races that I will up load when time permits. For now here is a few pics of the RSS. I called Claude at B-PWR Inc. and he said the conversion kit would be about $3,000 as they still have to make a chain guard and other minor detail changes to the kit. They are in the process of updating their web site with photos as it was just introduced at the races on sat for the first time look. There was a guy from Austria there that he mentioned was also interested in this kit. The company's web site is www.B-PWR.com

And why wouldn't you just buy a snowmobile? It looks cool but the center of gravity looks pretty high to me.

Lets take a better look at this modification, pros and cons. OK, for about 16k you can get a RS and have a great Road Machine. When winter shows up, for about 3K, and a few hours work you can have a snow toy that will keep them talking round the fire all night long. NO, IT WILL NOT PERFORME AS WELL AS A TRUE SNOW MACHINE, BUT IT COULD BE INTERESTING. Come spring, your back on the road again. Try and do that with a snow machine. Oh the grandkids have kitty Cats with wheels on them. By the way, a new high end snow machine will top 15K. So if you want the best of both worlds you can invest over 31K. The 20K investment looks better all the time. If this idea works out, don't be suprised if BRP follows.

It'll be a cold day in :cus: before I take my baby down any of the bumpy, rutted trails that my sled visits. This might be okay if you have perfectly groomed trails with a deep base. Snowmobiles are designed for winter, my spyder is not.

It kind of cool! knowing how heavy Spyders are though, I wouldn't want to get stuck with it in the snow.

Almost no lightweight sleds on the market now........Most are 4-strokes and they are inherently heavy...Mike

But... Now we've all got a reason to pick up an older GS model that has seen better days and...

But somebody has to pull the front rotors and calipers off of that thing to be serious! :roflblack:

In another forum; there was a fellow in Alabama looking at a 2008 GS for $9000...

Bob they probably are not considering this because if you remove the calipers you have to drain the brake fluid from the system and that is beyond most people and then put it all back together.......waaaaaaaaay easier to just leave it alone IMHO.....Mike

Makes Perfect Sense!

For someone who stays in the snowy regions of the country, this makes PERFECT sense. No storing the bike up for 4 months and on a tender. Makes the Spyder an all-year round machine!
